Thank you all, my dear, dear friends. Yesterday we had one of those days here at our house -- no water for 36 hours, Freya sneaking a pizza off the kitchen counter, and the smell of fresh polyurethane pervading the cold, damp house.... On the other hand, I had the loving affection of Tom and my DS Jacob, calls and cards from family, and greetings from all of you. And tonight we're going out to dinner to try celebrate again. Carla, Luanne, Jon, Anita, Lori, Ingrid, Sue, Carolina, Pamela, and Carol -- each one of your messages brought smiles and memories to my mind. I just realized that with the exception of Ingrid, I know each one of you in the Real World (as opposed to online) -- Ingrid, we'll just have to correct that soon. One of the best trips we ever took to Canada was on July 1st. Even thought most of the stores were closed, we managed to find eats and a place to stay. People were GREAT!!! Got inviteded to so many places, Sister in law was unhappy because the Walmarts were closed, but I sure wasn't. She kept complaining and I kept finding so many great people!. Happy Canada Day to all and have a great day!

Aww, I wish I was so festive. We took the kids out first thing and between 5 spinny rides and the heat - I'm done! It's a hot one here. I'll be ready to go again for fireworks though. Have a good fellow Canadians.

Many years ago when we were traveling, found ourselves entering Canada on July1st. People at the border were so nice and invited us to hot dogs etc later if we were still around. Traveling with BIL and wife and she was going thru stopping at every Walmart she found stage. Of course everything was closed except some of the larger restaurants and DH and I loved it, but sister in law was so mad because ""HER""walmarts were closed. I thought it was funny, but she kept getting madder until DH finally said something, then she shut up and pouted. DH and I were even invited to bar b ques for eating. I had a great time so sorry she didn't.
