Thank you all, my dear, dear friends. Yesterday we had one of those days here at our house -- no water for 36 hours, Freya sneaking a pizza off the kitchen counter, and the smell of fresh polyurethane pervading the cold, damp house.... On the other hand, I had the loving affection of Tom and my DS Jacob, calls and cards from family, and greetings from all of you. And tonight we're going out to dinner to try celebrate again. Carla, Luanne, Jon, Anita, Lori, Ingrid, Sue, Carolina, Pamela, and Carol -- each one of your messages brought smiles and memories to my mind. I just realized that with the exception of Ingrid, I know each one of you in the Real World (as opposed to online) -- Ingrid, we'll just have to correct that soon. Thank you! DD and DGS came down so DD could take me to lunch with my sister and sister-in-law. Going to be eating and chatting while DH babysits our hopefully napping DGS. He is 2 1/2 and has hit that stage where he has to be with is mom in the same room ALL THE TIME. She is hoping that he gets out of this stage by the time she has the next baby in late October. Then my younger son will fly in from his London-Dubai-Singapore trip to see all of us, and hopefully older son can get away from work this weekend long enough to join us for dinner on Sunday. So the great gift to me is seeing all our kids, a gift to me and DH too.

Thank you, everyone. Family is coming in for the day to help celebrate. DD and her two sons are due any moment, and then older son and his wife will arrive this afternoon with the plan to cook dinner for all of us. He is my foodie, and a few years ago started the tradition of cooking a birthday dinner for us and also doing Mother's Day and Father's Day dinners if he is not working. Since his birthday sometimes lands on Mother's Day, it is often quite festive.
