Right now it's 73º here in South Central Texas and extremely dry! Our high today and on the 4th is supposed to be 101º. I hope there aren't many fires caused by fireworks and dry grass.

Supposed to get to 84 today. Great temps for this time of year here in NC. But we've been two weeks with no rain. It would be nice to have some.

81 for today's expected high and just 77 for tomorrow. Those are great temps to me, but certainly not for the many boaters and skiers who enjoy much warmer weather.

Well, it's supposed to reach 87 today but right now it's 70-ish and raining. I got up and was all ready to go yard saling!

This has got to be the coldest on record or I want to know why!
It is supposed to be 73 here today! I debated on wearing capri's to stay warm! Got SO much to do I guess the running will keep me warm.
Tomorrow they were saying 74. DB has the 4th every year. He pust up a canopy so we can have shelter from the sun and heat. A few weeks back his next door neighbors have cut down every tree in their yard which used to give us shade late morning/early afternoon. I told him we may be pulling our chairs out into the sun this year!

I hear ya Connie...this is the worst summer, so far, that I can remember. One thing for certain, the bands marching in the 4th of July parades in New England will not be sweating and passing out from heat exhaustion.that is for sure, they won't be complaining...unless..it rains on their parade...LOL.

It's supposed to be a frickin' 90+ day here today. Sorry, it's NOT the 4th unless it's RAINING! The 4th is actually OUR start of summer! lol summer doesn't start til AFTER the rain on the 4th.. Looks like no rain here for Saturday. Just MORE FREAKING hot weather! lol

I am keeping my fingers (and toes) crossed that it won't rain here on the 4th. I am so looking forward to the parade in the morning and the fireworks tomorrow night. Last year I missed all the celebrations because I was recuperating from a fall.

We have hot, damp weather with torrential downpours.
This year is the drought breaker.
We've been in the drought condition since 1999.
I'm not going to complain about the heat or the water!

Husband is on nights and expects the cooler to run the thermostate to 69 degrees from 3pm to 11pm.
He was freezing us all out so I made him move to the basement....

It is sunny and warm here. We were about 84 today and they are saying 81 for tomorrow. It felt a lot warmer to me as I worked in the greenhouse for most of the day.

kat wa one of the colder 4th we had was in bothell wa, lol...then we went to the ocean and about froze! i did love being able to fire off our own fireworks...or is that banned now?

we're having a cool spell keeping our temps this week just under 90 or just a tad over! today we went to seaworld again (buy 1 day go for free till dec 09) and got a bit sunburned. it was still pretty hot thou, low 90's, and we only made it 6 hrs lol ~ liz

No, not banned entirely. Just some cities around the area have banned them within their city limits. I'm thinking EAstern Wa might have banned them, but not sure. I'm just glad that DS is past all the fireworks stuff! It sure got expensive! fun, but expensive!

I guess we will be getting our rain on monday! lol

it was 94 degrees not to long ago.. the house feels like a furnace! all the windows will be open tonight for sure! lol, well, the ones on the backside of the house, anyways!

Well....waking up to a dreary day...at least it is cool...for now.

A storm came through about 10:00 or so last night...rain in bucket loads. Even trying to get into the house with an umbrell was useless. Jeff and Barb (his girlfriend) came in last night,drenched.

At least we won't have to worry about fires getting started from the fireworks.

Having a pig roast at the park today...eating at noon. Volley ball nets will be set up and the horse shoes games will be enjoyed....That could go on all day.

But for us we'll need to come home grab a nap and start over...The kids and friends will be her about 6:00 to grill out and wait for dark for more fireworks.

You would have thought it was the 4th last night....there were tons of fireworks in the neighboring homes...It stopped until the storm passed then when on until after midnight.

Have a happy fourth...
