Not only are those horribly ugly but it would drive me insane to have my toes separated like that. How uncomfortable!!

Oakley you are not going to look like a doofus if you wear a pair of Crocs! Go for it! You seem to be quite the casual type gal, live in the country, spend outdoor time with grandchildren, work in your yard - they should be perfect for you. I don't own a pair, but after going to the website, I definitely want a pair of flip-flops next summer. I do see people wearing the older traditional style slide in cooler weather with cute socks. My DD who can be quite trendy will wear them in the fall/early winter (dry weather) with dark, thick earthy type socks and boot-cut jeans with a hoodie or cute t-shirt. No - she doesn't wear them to work (teacher), nor does she wear them out to dinner, etc. Kind of like the way Tina wears hers - but she will wear them out in very casual situations. I think they could be very appropriate with the right type of slacks for running errands - grocery shopping, Walmart, etc. PLEASE DON'T WEAR WHITE SOCK WITH THEM! LOL Heck - I'm talking myself into a pair for fall!

I wear almost nothing but Crocs and the Payless knock-offs. The Payless ones are comfy. The other knock-offs are not, and are just plastic shoes, nothing more. I buy my Crocs in two sizes. One size for wearing with socks. The other size for barefeet and working in garden. Crocs are actually quite warm to wear outside in winter since they are foam plastic they are insulated. I buy the ones without the holes for winter so socks don't get wet from shnow and slush. Salt stains wash right off. I buy the red, black, navy and bronze colors for winter wear. I have the flip flops and the "original" style Croc. The MaryJane ones never fit my feet right and seemed to buckle and flop around when walking when I tried them in the store. They have Crocs with 2" heels. There is also a line of "dressy" Crocs with even higher heels, called You. Also check out the CrocsRx on their website. They are designing Crocs for special medical needs now. They have CrocsSox now too, that are suppose to help with leg swelling. Here is a link that might be useful: Crocs You

I haven't bought a new pair of real shoes since I bought my Echo shoes 6 years ago and they are still in great condition. I think they were a size 9. I remember the bottom of my crocs saying 9 because I wasn't sure at first if they were a 6. I don't know if shoe sizes like clothing run different in the US. I used to always wear an 8-1/2 in shoes but as I have gotten heavier over the years my shoe size can run between 9 and 9 1/2 wide depending on the shoe. LOL Now you have me curious. Okay, I just went into spare bedroom and found the pink crocs with the holes in the bottom - I thought I had tossed them but must have kept them to garden in. LOL I checked the bottom and there are 2 sizes on the bottom. The left square has an 11 and the right square has a 9. I have never worn a size 11 shoe in my life so I don't know if that is the US size or not. I have never seen a size 11 shoe before. LOL Anne

Yes, they actually make them. Mine are pink insoles and the bottom is brown. They are like walking on jelly. I picked mine up at Hallmark but I have seen them at the Navy Exchange also. They are the actually Crocs, not a knockoff. I hate the way the others look - I only wear a size 6 but they do make your feet look big - like there is too much room above the toe area. My grandsons love theirs - they want to wear them even in the winter with socks!!

I agree with Steph - I couldn't stand to have my toes separated. That's why I never could wear toe socks!

I think they're ugly too. And the toes being separated would bug me too. I have some brand new toe socks I've never worn. Long story, but I got them from my co-workers when I retired. A huge basket of them. I think everyone (20-30 gals) brought in a couple pair apiece. I'd always keep a bunch of socks in my locker. When I'd come in and change clothes and shoes and put on my New Balance I'd have my socks there. I'd take them home daily. When I got low, I'd bring in a batch again. A couple time I ran clear out, and had to wear my NB without socks. ICK So they thought they'd give me enough so I wouldn't run out again. Some of those were toe socks.

The camo ones look like a bad case of foot fungus! They won't be on my wish list. I have trouble with the toe separator in flip flops, these would make me crazy! Not even counting the ugly factor. lol

My daughter has owned a pair for about a year now (the turquoise & blue pair). She's loves them for kayaking. She has worn them to HS school some (and always receives lots of compliments) but says that stepping on large gravel hurts.

I have to admit that I think the real pointy toed high heeled shoes look dumber to me. Oh well, whatever floats your boat. I'll always go for comfort and sensibility.

I've always like 'funky' things...things that are different.

These would be very functional for sailing. Having your toes separated would help with balance.

The lady who owns our dog boarding place owns a pair. I think she's pretty outdoorsy, so that would make sense too. I think they would be less functional for playing with dogs :)

My DD and SIL just bought a Moomba Wake Boat. They "surf" behind the boat. I would think it is great for "surfing" as your toes help balance you and you need the grip on the board.

I think they are great for Lake and River as foot protection.

I went to a Birkenstock store a couple of months ago and they had them in there. They were too ugly for me to even want to try them on out of curiousity.

I bet they would be perfect for rock climbers. I used to watch them climb the sheer rock faces at the Garden Of the Gods when I lived in Colorado Springs. Sometimes a "toe hold" was all they had keeping them up!

I think they're so ugly, they're cute! I might like the white pair, but I don't think my toes would straighten enough to wear them.
