Funny/Strange Thing Happened At Work (long)

I work at a large car dealership in Edmonton. Today a guy comes to the used car department and wants to go for a test drive. The salesman goes with the fellow and the guy wants to stop at the bank to get some money so he can buy the truck he is test driving. The salesman waits for him while he is in the bank and then he comes out and says now he wants to take the truck to Sherwood Park to show his wife. The guy is driving very fast and the salesman tells him to slow it down. While they are driving, the salesman notices a large lump in the guys stomach and figures something is not right. For some reason, the guy decides to stop at a convience store and while he is in there the salesman takes the keys out of the ignition and gets out of the truck and walks around the corner and calls 911 to see if a bank had just being robbed. The operator wouldn't tell him, so he said, look I might be involved and tells him the story. Finally they say yes that certain bank had just being robbed and they were sending the cops to where the robber is. I guess the robber figured something was up when he noticed the salesperson wasn't in the truck anymore and took off on foot. Police arrived about 15 minutes later, and had the truck towed so they could check for fingerprints. Thankfully the salesperson is okay, who knows what could have happen to him, and I must say the robber had guts to pull a stunt like that.

Good grief! I am so glad the salesman was OK....hope they catch the bank robber.

Well, I suppose I could try harder to watermark my future photos, but there's no way I'm going back to watermark all of the past ones. I don't really see the need though. All of those googled photos came from this forum, HMF or my blog. None were pirated by another website. If there were a way to make money from my photos - or my blog - I would love to, and I would protect the photos, but since I can't figure out the blogger monetizing system, I think not. And unless the watermark is plastered across the middle of the photo, it can easily be cropped out. Then what? I'd rather let a beautiful photo be seen. I kind of think that if someone wants to prevent the replication of their photos, they shouldn't put them on the web, because the instant they're up there, they're gone. Like Hoovb noted, China has probably never heard of the honor system and obviously doesn't respect copyright laws. I post my photos to bring pleasure to other gardeners and to cultivate interest in OGRs. And Connie, your saying that my photos caused you to acquire Bermuda's Anna Olivier is a thrill. I wish I got that kind of feedback more often. I sure hope she does well for you. This is only my perspective as someone who does not make my living with my photos like Floridarosez said. One year I ordered a Lousianna crab tree (I think that's what it was called). Anyway, for some reason they shipped it to me in February. There is no way that you can plant anything in NY at that time of the year, so I called the company and they told me they would send me another one at the correct planting time. Figuring it would never survive I threw it down into my dark, damp basement, box and all. When it was time for our local spring clean-up I picked up the box from the basement floor. Checked inside and the tree was alive and well with leaves... AND FLOWERS on it! Guess you never know.

As madroneb said, they were little bulbs not seed. The little bulbs are up and growing now! I tilled up a small spot, smoothed, and spread them over it. Then I covered them with some used potting soil so that it would be easy for them to break through. They are about 2" high now. I think they all came up! I thinned them Sunday and replanted the ones I pulled, They had good roots and they look like they are recovering nicely. I hope they make it through the winter! I think they will because we rarely have frozen ground here. I didn't count but I would say that I have about 50 or more.

Last year I went out to plant my tulips. I thought I would change things up and put them in all new places. I went out with my shovel, thought about where I could put them and started digging. Every hole I dug, I found last years tulips. Yup, I couldn't come up with a new plan. I was trying my darndest to do something new, but couldn't.

LOL I worked in dealerships for 25 years. Nothing that happens at a dealership would surprise me, I could write a book. LOL So glad the salesman was unharmed and had the sense to pull the keys and call 911.

Liira I'm glad the salesman got away. It just never surprises me anymore what some people will do.
Many years ago a friend of ours was shot and killed while test driving a car. He was a salesman for the Cadillac store and a guy came in and wanted to take a test drive in a new car.
About 5 miles from the dealership the guy shot Chuck 3 times and robbed him. Left him in the car and escaped on foot.
It was so sad.
Like msmarion, the stories I could tell about some of the things that have happened in DH's dealerships.

That is wild - and yes thank goodness the car salesman was able to keep his wits about him.

as of this afternoon they still haven't gotten the robber. All the tv stations and newspaper reporters were at the dealership interviewing the salesman today.

He's still at large!

Question: How many unsolved murders are there?

Answer: No one knows.

There are a large number that are known to the police, but they haven't found the perpetrator. Statistics on that.

But ... how many that got away with murder ... and it was considered just another regular death?

No - one - knows - that - one!

How many perfect crimes have there been?

Same answer.

I have heard it said that one can't be too smart if he works as car salesmen - sounds as if this guy had his PhD in 'Street Smarts' - good on him - thank GOD he listened to his gut, which doesn't lie, and that he got away safely!!!
