Refreshing summer drinks: I have one!

You got one?

Served this at my once a month water aerobics luncheon at my place, Monday, and gals are still talking about it.

Peach Naturally flavored sparkling water beverage. Zero calories, no fat, no sodium, no carbohydrates, no sugar.

Bought frozen fresh peaches, chopped, put in ice cube trays and poured the beverage in to make ice cubes (next time I will use peach necatar for ice cubes). BIG TIME HIT.

Made two pitchers, one plain with just the ice cubes and the peach beverage and one with peach schnapps, added to the peach water. One for non alcohol drinkers.

It's Sam's found at Wal Mart and they have Key Lime, strawberry, grape, etc. Just use your imagination! I did.

Sooooo refreshing and so good.

Any other suggestions?

No suggestions but that sounds great! I have some pics and funny disaster cooking post to share tomorrow...you will just die....my mom (I called her in Tx to tell) and she said Stacy why are you laughing I saID MOM I can either laugh or cry might as well laugh...Stacy

Sam's Choice Clear American from Walmart Peach*

*Made in Canada

Carbonated Water, Citric Acid, Natural Flavor, Aspartame, Potassium Benzoate (A Preservative), Potassium Citrate, Acesulfame Potassium. Phenylketonurics: Contains Phenylalanine.

I prefer natural cane sugar to Aspartame.

An inexpensive beverage to serve is to buy plain bottled seltzer. (NOT club soda which is high in sodium.) Then add real fruit concentrate. This can be garnished with real fruit pieces if desired. Alcohol can be added to make a cocktail. The possibilities are endless.

Hi :) ...I would like some of the canterbury bell cup and saucer mix and some of the tomato roma's if you have any to spare...my chocolate mint is just a little stick with good smelling leaves so far so i don't know when it will seed...it's just getting started...i have some cilantro (coriander) seeds and some chives seeds if you're interested in those...thanks :)

Oh yeah Eric, Chinese mustard will clear out the old nasal passages! As will horseradish or wasabi. And I also do as Daisy suggests, and inhale some eucalyptus oil. Also, a tea made of fresh ginger root, dried sage, with lemon and honey added makes a great remedy for sore throat/sinus problems. I make a large cup and inhale the vapors and then hold the tea in the back of my throat before swallowing. You could also use thyme for tea as well.

Natal, they're *amazing*! I read on one of the roasted tomato recipe sites that someone just kept mopping up the balsamic vinegar caramel -- I've been doing that too -- I take a bit of greek bread or naan about the size of one of those litstle morsels of deliciosity, pick up the morsel with it, and swipe it across the caramelized vinegar on my way off the baking tray (thanks for the parchment paper tip, golddust!). Oh my GOODNESS. They're so incredibly delicious. Thank you, thank you, thank you to you and golddust! (DH loves them too--DD prefers them raw with the olive oil and a touch of balsamic, but not as much as we like) I'll do the next batch (this weekend LOL) @325. Less time to wait :) boop, green smoothies? I have a friend who eats nothing but raw, and she has a monster of a green smoothie every morning. I'd love to see your recipe to compare it with hers (maybe I can ask her if I could post it here, if you're interested?) And I just have trouble with dried pineapple, but that's just me. I've never taken to it as I have to regular pineapple. Now *watermelon*? Watermelon and balsamic? Watermelon cubes in salad with slivered roasted almonds and greens, etc.? I can't get enough of it! I'm like a watermelon junkie this summer, although the roasted tomatoes are #2 with a bullet...

Watermelon Lemonade

5large lemons

3 cups water

1 cup sugar

8 cups seeded and cubed watermelon

lemon twists (optional)

Using vegetable peeler,remove peel from lemons in strips,juice lemons for about 1 1/2 cups juice.

For lemon syrup: In a medium saucepan,heat and stir the lemon strips,water and sugar over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat,cool for 20 minutes at room tempeture. Stir in lemon juice. Pour lemon syrup into 1 gallon jar or pitcher.

In a food processor or blender,puree half of the watermelon until very smooth. Strain through a course sieve set over a large bowl,pressing through any pulp. Pour watermelon juice into the same jar or pitcher with lemon syrup. Repeat with remaining watermelon (should have 10 cups total mixture) Cover,chill for 4-8 hours. Strain watermelon lemonade through colander,discard lemon strips. (If you like,cover and chill up to 24 hours more)

To serve,fill eight 12 ounce glasses with ice. Pour watermelon lemonade over ice. If you like,garnish glass with a lemon twist.

Oh Glenda!! I goofed, I thought you meant a recipe!!

I like Lipton's Peach flavored tea or Lipton's Rasberry flavored Tea. I don't do anything special just substitue sugar with splenda. I drink it like crazy. I like it.

I have this in my try file....sounds good to me.

Watermelon Coolers

4 oz vodka
3 oz Watermelon Pucker
1/2 cup watermelon pulp

Put everything over ice in a blender. Whiz it until it is slushy. Garnish
with a watermelon wedge.

They always sound good and then I never have a reason to make them!

Almond Joy Cocktail
1/2 oz Amaretto
1/2 oz White creme de cacao
1/4 oz Coconut cream
2 oz Cream

Pour ingredients together and shake.

wish i could duplicate the green tea frappachino (sp) from starbucks...
dilly dally i have to agree with you about the artifical sweetners, but once in a while it's so good to have something sweeter than plain water, i normally drink...(and have to restrict sugar intake)

I don't have a recipe, just wanted to tell you I was a big-time Diet Coke drinker. I switched to the Sam's Choice Key Lime a few years ago, I LOVE it! I tried Mandarin Orange last week, that is good, too.

Rthummer-We would get along just fine.My favorite drinks are the same as yours but I buy the Wallmart brand.LOL I drink it all the time,not just in the summer.
I also like the Sugar free Orange Crush over ice with a splash of heavy cream.Tastes just like an orange Dream Bar.
Did U get that last one?? :)

Some of these sound yummy!

I like Beer Margaritas.

1 can beer
1 can frozen limeade
(using the empty limeade container add the following)
1 can water
1 can Tequila (I do not put that much in)

Mix and enjoy! I think this is the same recipe Flamingo uses.

Glenda i love that bottled water from wal mart.I try not to drink it too often because of the aspartame,but i don't let that stop me completely.I've tried other store brands without and with aspartame,none can compare with the wal mart/sams brand.It's how i treat myself sometimes.LOL
