Enough is enough!

I think I've had my share of bad stuff this year!! I went for the ultrasound. Well, they did do the mammogram first, then they did the ultrasound. They sent a Dr. in and she did an ultrasound also. Well, they inform me that I need to see a Surgeon for an OPEN Breast biopsy. I've about had enough!!

collielover what temp is your basement? i think mine is just a bit colder than the house. i normally keep my brugs in the greenhouse, but you're right they're whitefly and aphid magnents, plus don't really have the rooom for so many full sized plants, not with the 1200 daylily seeds i start every year. i also finally got dahlias again from poochella. i don't really like the small ones, mostly aa and a sizes but i may try some b's later. what temp do you store these at. i lost all mine the first fall i got them. i dug them and left them lay to dry off and went away for two days and when i got back they had all frozen.

Right after my granddaughter was born, I retired. My daughter said to me while she was pregnant that she didnÂt know what she was going to do for daycare and since I had planned on retiring, I offered to watch my granddaughter when my daughter went back to work. She is 16 months old now and I have watched her since she was 6 weeks old, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. My daughter lives approximately 50 minutes from me. I get up every morning at 5:30 a.m. to drive to meet my daughter halfway so she doesnÂt have to get up even earlier for work. I drive approximately 80 miles a day. Gas is very expensive and I have been spending hundreds of dollars on gas which I cannot afford, not to mention I have already logged almost 10,000 miles on my van that I purchased used in February this year. I realize that I offered to watch my granddaughter but at the time, the cost of gas did not enter my mind. Today after once again listening to her talk about planning yet another vacation this year (theyÂve already gone on 2 this year), I tried asking her if she could at least fill my car with gas twice a month - she went ballistic and called me greedy! She said she was going to put my granddaughter in daycare and I wouldn't see her again. She brought up that she gave me some money when she got her income tax refund and that it was not her problem that I got myself in a financial bind and that I moved so far away. I responded that the money she did give me out of her income tax was almost what I spent on gas in one month. The financial responsibility for my granddaughter I feel is her parents, not mine. I am not asking to be paid to watch my granddaughter, I am only asking for assistance with the amount of money that I am paying for gas to watch her. If her parents were struggling financially, I would have never even brought it up Â I would have suffered in silence. They have a brand new car and purchased a motorcycle when my granddaughter was about 1 year old Â they spend money like there's no tomorrow! She says, she works hard for her money and she deserves to be able to buy things and go on vacations. I agree, but not at my expense. I also worked hard for over 30 years and deserve to have a nice retirement! I am not asking for full reimbursement on what IÂm spending on gas, only suggested if maybe twice a month they could fill my gas tank. I love my granddaughter very much and really enjoy her, but I simply feel used. Not only do I watch her while they work, I also watch her when they have other plans. This August, she informed me that they are going on vacation for one week so I will be watching my granddaughter. At this point, I am both hurt and disgusted at her response and donÂt even know if our relationship can be salvaged. Was I wrong to ask for help with the cost of gas? Thanks for any feedback.

mmommy: If moving out is not an option, look at some other opportunities. Try taking an art class or cooking class. These may seem "dumb" or "boring" but I'm pretty sure (depending on where you live) that bringing your son along probably wouldn't be a problem to those types of classes. A little bigger ambition: go take a literature class or philosophy class and find out if your local community college or university has daycare facilities. Yeah, its some work, but if you do something besides going to work and coming home, you will have to deal with the situation a little less. If you already have your degree, find out about a photog class or what the local art museum has to offer. Ultimately, if you only have about 18 months with SD to be in the home (she may be there longer--don't get excited) then if you start doing something that keeps you and baby boy out of the house, it may make YOU feel better. I know the problems that I encountered repeatedly were because I was HERE repeatedly and let the situation get too far (we're getting divorced because of SK's and especially EX and husbands inability to tell her NO). Hindsight (20/20) if I had been here a little less, I believe some of our problems would have been a little less tense and my attention would have been focused elsewhere. Despite the fact that I am in school (online) it would have behooved me to have been at the art museum some weekends (lol). Think about it and see what you can come up with....I know a lot will depend on what you can do with your son b/c you don't want to leave him at home and subjected to SD, but you may be able to come up with a good deal somewhere. simply

Jamie, I've had two surgical breast biopsies, and with my family history of breast cancer, my outlook has always been "when" not "if." But both times I was told that the biopsy was benign. So, please, keep a good attitude and don't automatically assume that you'll get a bad result, just because you're having a surgical biopsy.

I have had the mammogram, ultrasound and open breast biopsy twice and I did not have cancer either time. The second time was a little scary while I was waiting for the results. I hope you have a good report.

Jamie, I know all this is scary because I've been through it all. Mammogram, ultrasound, and tests. My BC surgery was in July, 2008. I have been cancer free since then. You have had a rough two years but you can make it, I know it. Hang in there, take each day at a time. Saying a prayer for you. Judy

I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I've had a number of breast biopsy surgeries, and they have all been benign. One time they were pretty sure it was malignant, but it wasn't. Remember that 85% are benign. You will be sore for a couple of days, then good as new.

You are in my special thoughts and prayers. Keep the faith and remember that you have a very special angel watching over you. Keep us posted on your progress. Hugs!

I went for a ultasound yesterday myself and waiting for the results. Seem like lots of people are having tons of troubles. I Just had a death in the family Monday also. When it rains it pours.

Be grateful you have thorough docs. Most biopsies are benign, and if it's not, they may catch it early and it just won't be so bad--I've been there and done that, and it was just nothing that was awful.

Jamie, I know it all seems overwhelming right now but this is just a little bump in the road compared to what you've been through this past year. Thanks everyone for the kind words and thoughts. I'm trying hard, really I am. But I can say this makes me want a cigarette bad! But, it's been 4 months since I've had a puff. I can't/won't start now. Again, I thank all of you!

((((Jamie))) you certainly have been through so much and I am sorry to hear of more upset in your life. I agree that in some ways it is good that your docs are being so thorough. I know it will be difficult to go through even more challenges but you are strong and you can do this. I am so proud of you and your attitude...you are a very inspiring woman. I had this done, too, Pookie (surgery, cyst removals, anesthesia, etc) and I was back at work, packing and shipping and framing, the next day, with only tiny, minor discomfort. Hopefully you'll get good results and you can stop worrying! Keep a good thought, Pooks!
