Albert, Donna has given you a great amount of detail about how to get your bulbs to rebloom. I'm not sure what you were asking. I thought you wanted to know what would happen if you did nothing....and so, if you do nothing, they will continue to grow and eventually rebloom on their own schedule as long as the bulb has stored enough nutrients to support the fomation of the scape and blooms within the bulb. Funny, stressed plants tend to bloom as a last procreative resort, which is why the dormancy period (withholding watering and cooler temperatures) is so effective at "forcing" a bloom. Most of us grow the bulbs for their blooms, not for their foliage, so you most likely won't find many answers for "What happens if I don't do anything"...other than what is already in your thread....they will just grow...and they might bloom. Most often the question is "What do I need to do to get my bulbs to bloom again, and as you can see from Donna's reply, there is a schedule to it. Are you fertilizing the plants? A general practice is to use half-strength Miracle Gro at least every other watering. The bulbs typically have to have grown to at least 8 leaves before they are considered blooming size. The bulbs that you bought had been "primed" for blooming, only needing water and warmth to bloom. Some only need warmth, as we see to many bulbs blooming in their boxes at L and HD! Some of us have been growing Hippeastrum/amaryllis for decades, most have been growing them for at least several years...the FAQ is a nice assembly of actual responses from the list over the years. Your Lowe's sale bulbs should be very happy in the room that you have described, growing and growing. The natural blooming cycle in your zones may be later in the spring. If you'll post a general location for where you live, at least what state, others on the map near you (the Sunset zone 2-3 cover many states) may be able to provide additional info depending on what your goal is for the bulbs (reblooming?). I had a similar long wait for my rebates from Home Depot. When I purchased my washer and dryer set I was owed a $150 gift card for the purchase (over $1500 promotion) and I was owed $55 for the refund of my delivery fees (it was a free delivery promotion as well) I filed the paperwork for both separately and waited. The $150 gift card came within 4 weeks. I waited and waited on the delivery rebate. The set was purchased July 14 and the paperwork filed a week later. The paperwork said to allow 8-10 weeks for delivery. Almost exactly 10 weeks later, I got an email stating that some outside company had received my rebate request and was processing it. I was informed that I should expect my check to arrive in 8-10 more weeks. I just received the check at the end of November. All in all 17 weeks to receive my check for $55. I can't say that I won't purchase from Home Depot again, but I do understand now that there certainly won't be any rushes to get my money back. I did buy several gallons of paint during their Labor Day paint promotion and received my rebates very promptly within 5 or 6 weeks. I think the main problem was with the third party company Home Depot hired to take care of the delivery rebates. Home Depot isn't alone in unusually long and complicated rebate requests. I had a terrible problem several years ago getting a delivery rebate that Sears owed me. I had to refile it three times after being told first that I didn't qualify and next that it was never received, and then that the submission period had expired. Fortunately, I'd saved the first letter and had made several copies of everything. Almost more trouble than it was worth for $45. So far my best experience has been with Best Buy. One reason I like to buy from Best Buy during "free delivery" promotions is that they don't make you pay the delivery and then file for a rebate. They just don't charge you for it up front. If Best Buy had had my washer and dryer set for the same price as Home Depot, I'd have preferred to buy from them. At the time I bought, Home Depot was cheaper because of the $150 rebate.

I've been following your post because this past month, hubby has been preparing me for the dreaded "R" word (relocation). We'd just finally finished our basement and I used COLOR for the first time and I love it. I also just painted our front LR-turned-"library" (light sage). We had all blandish light smoke gray walls throughout, but I was adding in sages, pumpkin "spice", and SW Blonde. I think I'll hold up on my other paint projects in the main living areas and let them remain neutral. Now that I know how to paint, I don't think I'd let one or two bright rooms scare me (if/when house-hunting), but I wouldn't want to have to paint a large area--like several rooms/halls that flow together--soon after moving in, so if there are other houses in the market that would be other than this scenario, they'd have the edge. I just saw in your last post that you live in Durham. Small world--it's the RTP area that we would be relocating to from central IL. I think your area has higher home prices, so that scares me. I'm in my dream home now, I can't stand the thought of leaving.... :-( Ah well. If you have any links to good realtor sites that have pics, etc., in your area, please share! Thanks. Like someone mentioned above, it's time to stop thinking of the current home as "yours" and to distance yourself from it--changing color back to neutral will help with that. When you do this, something about the "energy" of the home changes (weird, I know). I like the LR after Lindy photoshopped it. I also think I would do the kitchen cabinets all the same (not light on top, dark on bottom). What about some "antiquing" of them--in the cracks? Can the kitchen be a different color from the rest of the "fun space"? I have a friend who did her cabinets cream with some glaze in the cracks to antique them and then painted her walls a ruddy color (terra cotta-like). It was gorgeous and did well with the neutral colors of the rest of her rooms, but still gave her some "pop". A good muted orange (since you like that color) is Laura Ashley 'Spice' (at Lowes)--I'm not an orange person but fell in love with this and used it in a basement area and planned on it for my kitchen. But the thought of stating that someone has no business in marrying a man with kids .......there are alot of woman here, that yes, if you do get into a marriage saying you want nothing to do with the kids, and he has full custody, then no, the marriage should not go through. That i agree with you. But wild thing here is clearing stating that the kids are running a muck. That we do not have an obligation to them but do it anyways and then get blamed for things. That is all she is saying. and yes when you marry the agreement usually from the DH is 'i'll handle things' and then it doesnt' happen eh...like descipline cause he doesn't want to look like the bad guy. And i thank GOD that my husband puts his foot down with his kids even though we get them eow..and now less cause they hit their teens. example 1. dad i want a bike here dad's response, ' you have a bike at mom's , bring it over when you want' kids' response ' mom wont' let me, she said for you to buy another' dad's response' no, you have one and only one bike, i will not buy you another, and since your mom wont allow you then its a problem between mom and you.'
