things that grow whether I plant them or not: tomatoes, peppers, squash, amaranth, curly lettuce, mint and all sorts of other herbs...called volunteers......oooops more than 5.....but there is even more...... Things that I plant and that grow well every year: peas, beans (P. vulgaris mainly), artichokes, eggplants, peppers, collard greens, chard, kale, oooops again, only 5? and many others........

Ladyrose that is why I use those pans. I have had to water 2 days in a row for the containers not in pans. I have got to figure out something for that lasagna pan, I may try an old cookie sheet. Granted the larger containers do stay moist longer but yesterday that sun was ready to cook something. I seriously got a sunburn on the back of my neck from yesterday. Mechele, my nephew was wanting to go to college in Murfeesboro. I have actually been there a few times, I had a friend that lived there that I went to college with. I know I visited that town several years later and that little place had taken off in growth.

I had a strange day last Friday. Was quite a scare that turned out to be quite a pleasure actually. I have some friends that live about 200 miles north of me. He's in his 80s now and his health has been getting worse as time goes on. Poor guy was very active and about 7 years ago he had a freak accident that put him in a wheelchair for most of the time. Anyway, I heard the phone ring and lately I don't even look at the caller ID but the computer was on and I looked at it. The name rang a bell but took a fraction of a second to realize it was Andrea's brother's name and I went oh, no, I could only think of one reason why he'd call and that was that Rodg had died or something. Well I answered and I heard both of them (whew!) and they were in town and wanted to stop over for a bit. They were down for a breakfast with some old co-workers and were going to Eau Claire for an even where he'd be featured. (He's a former television personality.) They both looked better than they have for a long time and we had a nice visit. Nearly an hour and they had to get going. What a joy! It made my week! I haven't seen or heard from them for a long time so it was really nice. Otherwise, not much exciting going on here.

For my job I need to take payment from customers (many of these are small businesses). It seems no one in Saskatchewan has a credit card! We have issues all the time because our customers (99.9999 % Canadians) don't have a credit card to make their purchase. They want us to bill them or mostly they want to go into a local office to pay cash. Most of the local offices of the company no longer accept cash payments which really annoys the customers. The lack of credit cards has been really surprising to my colleagues and I. I think checks are popular here (WNY) as many small businesses here don't like to take credit cards due to the high fees. Speaking to Canadians every day from Vancouver to Montreal I thought I could understand the accents. Went to see a band from Vancouver and talked to a band member during a break. Oh my gosh I could barely understand him. Actually much of it I just nodded my head to, no clue what he was saying. Just like the US, Canada is a very diverse population over many different regions. While communication is sometimes hard, overall it makes life more interesting. Recently was told of a "come and go tea" by a person in Windsor, had no idea what she was talking about. It was like a birthday party. Not sure if actual tea was served.

The sun came out this afternoon! Think it was about 75 and humid. Didn't bother me a bit! After all these months of cold or cool and wet weather I will take anything that warms up!

It is almost 9 pm and it is 91 degrees outside...but feels like 93 because it is sticky....it;s been a pretty nice day though as we had a pleasant breeze most of the day.

It's 8:22pm and it's 84 here in southern colorado. Not much humidity though so it's not bad plus there's a breeze. I think the high today was about 92.

It is 85 here at 9:30 p.m. and very humid. I have the A/C running. This is the first truly hot day we have had.

9:30 and it is 80* and with 78% humidity!
High was 90* with a low of 60*

I am so thankful for central air!! I came home from work at 3:00 and the air wasn't cooling...I figured it was going to be a LONG night. Not sure what the deal was, but Dean just turned everything off and back on...and it worked fine! And yes, I had tried all of that!!! LOL

11:10 PM it's now 64Â°. Today's high was 74Â° GORGEOUS!
We've been having some cool rainy weather - until today, it was sunny. Tomorrow we're back to rain!

11pm 69 with big thunder storms just above us at the Canadian border, but sneaking into ND. Sure hope we don't get the rain. Humid and A.C is good.

Right now it is 68Â°, but the high today will be 90Â°. Afternoon thunderstorms are expected as usual. That is o.k. my new plantings and garden need the water. My new azaleas, wiegelas, hydragenas, roses, clemateas, honeysuckles, passion flowers, look great. Garden looks fair. Corn looks fantastic.

It is only 76Â° right now, but it will get up to 97Â° before the day is over.

I've learned to get up early and get "all" chores accomplished, inside and out.

60 here this morning at 8:30 am, and headed for a high of 69, here on the Keweenaw peninsula. It's been topping off in the mid 70s this week and that's about average for June and July here, although we do get a few days in the 80s and occasionally one that even tops 90. You can't beat U.P. weather in the summer! It's gorgeous!

It's so hot here on Florida's Space Coast that I could have sworn I saw a red guy with a long tail and horns, carrying a pitchfork and walking amidst the flames this morning.

It's 63Âº and cloudy at 9:00am in Green Bay, WI. We are suppose have a high of 74 later & maybe some storms later. I'll get my work done this morning & play this afternoon.
