Trisha's Pound Cake in the oven

I just put a new recipe I am trying in the oven. I saw it on TV this Saturday on Trisha Yerwood's cooking show. Hope it is good. Our grandsons are coming tomorrow for an overnight. Our 6 year old is now officially a 1st grader, and I thought a cake is due him for his accomplishments. He has really learned how to read this past year.

I hope I am not sorry that I did not bake my Blue Ribbon Pound Cake. This one is much simpler, so I'll let you know.

Trisha's Cold Oven Pound Cake

2 sticks butter, room temperature
3 c sugar
6 eggs, room temperature
1 cup whipping cream, room temperature
3 c flour, sifted
1 tsp vanilla

DO NOT PREHEAT THE OVEN.

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, being careful not to over beat. Mix in flour alternating with the whipping cream, starting and ending with the flour. Do not over beat. Stir in vanilla.

Grease and flour a tube pan. Pour batter in pan and place in a cold oven. Close the door, and turn on the oven to 325. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Cool in pan 20 minutes, knock out onto rack to cool.

I am baking this a day ahead of time as it seems the flavor of cakes is always better the 2nd day.
