online site for women's size nightgowns?

I just cannot find the style of nightgowns I love to wear in the winter, and mine are worn out. I like long, short sleeve nylon nightgowns with no waist in 2x or 3x. Does anyone know of a quality online site to find them? I especially love the ones trimmed in elastic lace.

Have you tried the Vermont Country Store they have a lot of the old fashioned kind. I don't have the link handy but a google will get you there I'm looking for panties with elastic around the leg openings I hate the new high rise kind

Don't do internet contact stuff, but..... Gross inaccuracy would be a no-no, IMHO. Anything close would be OK. None of us see ourselves as others see us. I think there's room for flexibility while remaining in the realm of reality. And lots of "unattractive" people become attractive as we come to know them. Seems to me, though, that if I responded to an HWP (height weight proportionate) "middle-aged" WF (white female) Christian and a fat, Puerto Rican, atheist 60-year-old showed up, I would be disappointed in the intentional deception. Don't see any sense in that. Wastes everyone's time.

Non traditional bridesmaid dresses--online women's retailers?

I agree with Raven-- you have to at least choose a line with the same purples if the bridesmaids will chose different dresses. Part of the challenge is that purple is a big color for weddings this year. Nordstroms and many of the other stores have a range of purple dresses but the available sizes are very limited. I'd try to find one of the lines that comes in plus sizes. While a lot of the dresses will go up to 16 or 18 in regular sizes, we all know that a lot of the bridal style dresses run small. Look for brands like Eliza J and Ralph Lauren... and I strongly suggest checking a couple of times a week for the new styles. If you see something you think is a possibility, order! You can always return. FWIW when my bff was married (also Sept), we all wore linen sheath dresses from Talbots. The ordering was easy. The dresses were a light gray and we all wore pearls. It was a very simple style but we all looked lovely-- from size 4 to size 18. I don't see anything that would work now but if your daughter would be ok with a more simple style, you may find something in the next month or two.

Exchanging an online order item at the store...??

My nearest Macy's has almost no inventory. There's nothing I want to buy, and there IS no stock from which to make an exchange. I can find clothing online, but it shipping is very slow. Much of the time the item isn't as described -- the "all cotton nightgowns" that were cotton *knit* -- or the item is oddly sized. Nov. 29 I ordered four items. One arrived a week later and was OK. A fleece top arrived Dec. 10 and is XS in the shoulders but at least 4" wider than a S in the body. Two other tops never shipped. When I called Dec. 10, I waited 15 minutes for a representative and was told the missing tops would arrive in two days. (Nope.) They said they'd reorder the XS. That hasn't happened, and I now have an email that they want the defective top returned. Fortunately, I had not disposed of this unsaleable top. I was promised a $10 coupon by way of apology; haven't seen that either. This isn't "Christmas rush". IME it's just normal.

OMG, I have seven swimsuits in my closet that I ordered online and are waiting for the pandemic to end so I can finally return them. I gave up. I doubt there will be any hot tub parties this summer anyway, I'll just keep my old suit and try again next year. Springroz I loved your "patterns to distract and fool the eye" comment. have you ever looked up dazzle ships? LOL!

I like short sleeve knee length cotton year round.I found some in the Carol Wright online catalogue a couple of years ago and bought 3.I'm still wearing them so they wear good.They are $6.99! Can't beat the price.They also have other styles.I usually wear a 2X but I did order the 3X because being cotton I didn't know how much they would shrink.You might want to check it out.
Minnie-I'm the same way.I hate those high rise things and even the ones I have found that say they are the regular kind,aren't!

Here's one to look at. Sure is pretty. If that's not what you want, look around that website a bit as they have some others. Also, if you still have one of the gowns, look at the label and that might help with internet searching.

My mom loves the 100% cotton Chaps nightgowns that they sell at Kohls. I always buy her one when I get one of the 30% off coupons. They come in woman's sizes.

You can try Woman within, Roamans or One Stop. All 3 have websites.

Woman Within and/or Lane Bryant catalog (same company, but they put out different catalogs, I don't know why--and make sure you Google the Lane Bryant CATALOG, not the store).
Also, AmeriMark.com (I really like the Vanity Fair nylon nightgowns, which they sell, too). And have you looked at JCPenney online?
