My town has a parade at 1 p.m. and then fantastic fireworks after dark.

I'll be working.

The church has ask if they could have another picnic here on the fourth and on labor day. Because the park is a riverside park and is under water and probably will be for the rest of the summer.

The church picnic's usually end around 2:00.On the 4th, That will give me time to kick up my heels and rest a bit until my family come for a cook out later. We usually have fireworks at dark. Not sure what we will be doing that night. My middle daughter will not be coming. She and her family will be leaving for vacation the weekend before and won't be home yet.
My oldest grandson and his family won't be able to come.
My next to the oldest grandson is now living a couple hours away (will be living there all of his senior year) don't think he'll be back for the 4th. He has been the one who lit the fireworks.
Guess I'll just have to wait and see.

I don't know. If I don't have a party, nothing happens and I don't know that I'm in the mood to have one.

My dad will be 90 years old on the 4th. (He was born at home!) We will likely take him and his wife out for an early dinner.

Our neighborhood has a parade for the kids in the morning. Just a little neighborhood thing, but fun to watch.

No big plans

We were just discussing this yesterday. Haven't decided yet which house we'll be at. If we're in the country, our driveway is the best place in the neighborhood for viewing the fireworks, so I was thinking about inviting the neighbors over for dessert. BUT if they have the fireworks actually on the 4th, that would mean DH would have to get up about 4 the next morning to get up to work on time. It's 30-40 miles, depending upon the route he takes, but when we're in the suburbs, we live only 1 mile from his work, so that's a consideration

We've always done something on the 4th... this year we may just watch the subdivision fireworks display (which isn't bad).

Usually stay at home and hope to see fireworks over the tree tops from the park. Last year went to Jefferson Texas for their celebration which was great

Camping with friends. Lots of fun.

I don't know. Hubby wants to go to the beach - but I would miss the huge "mile long that grew" yard sale in Longmeadow, MD.
I will be missing my mom a lot that night. We always had a special time when only she and I would go to the fireworks.
Now I am on my own.

home alone probably..dh and the boys are going down to see fil, and pick up his home-made model t..ds1 has wanted it since he was a kid...i really don't mind as he's never been a fave...lol...

No fireworks here due to lack of rain. I could smell the smoke from a fire in the Ocala Nat'l Forest this morning when I went out for the newspapers. Way too hot for a cookout. So I guess we'll just chill. What are you doing, AA?

We always watch "Thunder on the Mountain." Our friends have a wonderful view of Vulcan Park from their back yard, and it's the perfect spot to view the fireworks. Birmingham really does a great job with this. Early in the evening our tradition begins a shrimp boil and then right before the fireworks begin we make homemade ice cream to enjoy during the show.
