Aqua Zumba anyone?

Got an email from our water director and they are going to offer this, next Wed, as a trial class.

Really looking forward to it. Hope the "complainers" don't create too much negativity. Hope hope hope!

Aqua Zumba Known as the Zumba "pool party," Aqua Zumba gives new meaning to the idea of an invigorating workout. Splashing, stretching, twisting, even shouting, laughing, hooting and hollering are often heard during an Aqua Zumba class. Integrating the Zumba formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness disciplines, Aqua Zumba blends it all together into a safe, challenging, water-based workout thats cardio-conditioning, body-toning, and most of all, exhilarating beyond belief.

Sounds fun!

I take the Zumba classes at my gym. They are fun and the music is normally pretty good, but vary depending on the teacher. In terms of a workout...you definitely break a sweat but it depends on how much you get into it. On the plus side, it feels more like having fun dancing then exercising. I think the DVDs would be great especially if you are unsure about the moves, you can practice as much as you like. If you are trying it for weight loss, I think you'd need something more cardio, but would be a nice supplement to other things walking, lifting weights etc.

Anyone used 'Lava Grow? or Aqua Soil- ST Int. 'King of Aq Grdn Aq Soil
Q

I buy at a local garden centres. They get it from wholesale distributor serving the lower mainland and Vancouver Island. I am uncertain if any of the mine's distributors sell anywhere other than Canada; http://www.canlava.com/ I will continue to use it. An update. I keep reading everyone on the internet complaining the wholesale growers of Annual and Tropical plant growers using a grower blend, Peat & Perlite. I have noticed that the plants I have kept in that soil grow wonderfully. Maybe it comes from my working with peat soil for over 15 years. Ever since, I have tried to get away from peat, more for environmental reasons, I have had more problems with all my different kinds of plants. Maybe it's all just a learning curb. I know how to grow all kinds of plants in peat, including how to water plants in dry peat. Which is what I let happen before I ever water a succulent planted in peat in the cool weather months. The shoulder season is the trickiest using any kind of growing material with all plants. There is nothing worse than finely ground coir. It holds tons of water and does not break down readily. Unless you repot the plant you are stuck with an over-watering problem. When the time comes that soil makers learn that is not the same as peat and should not be treated in the same manner when grinding it up.

Anyone use Kem Aqua Plus from Sherwin Williams?
Q
Comments (5)
I like Kem-Aqua plus pretty well. It is beginner friendly and easy to work with. It is comparable to a lacquer level finish without the problems that lacquers have. With proper equipment and setup, you will not need to thin the product and cleanup is easy. It can orange peel if your gun is setup poorly so spray a decent amount of cardboard first. The white is super-white and you will not match it with any other coating, so if that is a concern, get some tint (it has to be tinted at a distribution center). ---- I have airless, air-assisted airless, and HVLP sprayers (actually multiples of the first and third). I will put a $500 Fuji Spray with a devilbiss gun against any airless sprayer and crush it every time. My go-to spraying setup for wood is a Devilbiss finishline spray gun and a Fuji Spray Q5 platinum. But I also have a Fuji Spray Semi-pro 2 and it is a great sprayer for the money. If you are spraying off a compressor, I highly recommend upgrading to a turbine sprayer. The Semi-pro sells new for $460 and you can sell it used for $400. Well worth the small investment. --- This is not taking anything away from 2k poly... a good Italian 2k poly is great if you can get one. I am underwhelmed by the development of some US versions that make no attempt to move away from isocyanates.

We have it here. Both my daughter and I take regular Zumba classes. The instructor just started Aqua Zumba. My daughter has been going. She said she likes it but doesn't get much of a workout because its more suited for older people (her words, not mine). She's only 25 and the others in the class are much older. Anyway, she said that they all love it.

I'd try it. Sounds like fun. I'm in a Zumba class for older and out of shape people. Love it! Lots of fun and we have a great instructor.

I take regular Zumba classes on Tuesday nights and it's sooooo much fun! I'm on my fifth session of six classes and love the teacher. She thoroughly enjoys what she's doing and makes it fun for all of us. I think Aqua Zumba would be a lot of fun. Go for it.

Jodi, I remember when you were getting ready for your first class. I'm glad you are still taking it! I hope to again, soon!

When I was going to the Y in the exercise and thrive
program (lance armstrong program for cancer survivors)
one of the classes was in the aqua aerobic pool. They
aslo used it for senior senior citizens. I was in there
for 10 minutes and I almost passed out. It was TOO
HOT! omg... I was dizzy, could barely make it out of the
pool, into the showers, hoping for a cools shower, but
you can't adjust the temp in the showers, so I got dressed
as quickly as I could and ended up outside in the snow for
about 15 minutes. don't think I will ever try that again!

I can't picture Aqua Zumba but I love regular Zumba and Group Groove classes that I take at my gym. I've lost six pounds in the last six months without even trying taking just two classes a week. Go for it Glenda. You'll have fun at the very least.

Aqua zumba is now being taught in Y's all across the country.

We've just been waiting on a certified one.

Easy to picture! We've been doing a little by one instructor, who is just learning some steps.

We have a certified instructor coming Wed, next week.
