Could you vote to help my daughter win a $25 grocery gift card?

My daughter is a budding couponer and she does just great! She's entered a contest to try to win a $25 grocery gift card. It is based on people 'liking' the savings she has already been able to accomplish on a Shoplite/Kraft promotional sale. The person who gets the most people who like what they did wins the grocery card.

You might have to be on facebook to vote. I'm not sure, but I see 'facebook' is part of the url.

Jaime's is about 27th down and starts with 'Okay so hereÃ¢ÂÂs what I did to spend $58.25 to get to the $120 level and still have my $20 certificate and my $25......'

I was wrong. Facebook is not part of the URL and you don't have to be a facebook member to vote. Anyone can vote!

When I voted it said "Like" and she had 3 votes. After I pressed "Like" she had 6. So others must've voted for her, too. How often can you vote?

Leigh, a young teacher friend of mine came to school on Tuesday, February 15th. She was showing all her friends the "tacky" little pillow that her boyfriend had given her for Valentine's. He was late picking her up for their Valentine date, so she got mad and left. When he arrived and was told that Leigh had left, he asked her roommate to give her his gift. The pillow was red satin covered in red lace, with ruffled lace edges. In the center, were red silk roses and red ribbons which had silver bells and charms tied on the ends of them. Tacky and cheap, complained Leigh as she showed it to all her teacher buddies. Tacky and cheap! She ranted and raved all day until about two o'clock when a dozen beautiful red (real) roses arrived with a card that said: "My Dearest Leigh, I hope by now you have found the engagement ring I attached to the Valentine pillow I gave you. I love you with all my heart and I hope you feel the same about me and will say yes! Awaiting your reply with all my love, S.... " Sure enough, there was a beautiful diamond ring tied on the end of one of the ribbons of the "tacky" pilow. Leigh cried and we all laughed until we were rolling on the floor! And she did say yes, and three kids later, he still gives her some "tacky" gift every Valentine's!

Like I said above, it's just a personal preference/reaction, but I always felt cash gifts said "we didn't put any thought into this." My late mother-in-law always gave me generous cash gifts, but I always wished she had bought something instead. I used to take the cash to Tiffany's and buy a piece of jewelry and then tell people, "My mother-in-law gave me this." Only technically true, I guess, but it felt so much better to me than saying, "My mother-in-law gave me the money to buy this." Unfortunately, it's all moot now since my jewelry got stolen years ago. :-( I should add that for certain recipients, like teenagers and college students, cash is probably the most appreciated gift of all. Gifts are good to give out to others due to they can be used for shopping at stores for only they can know and buy what they like. Grocery gift cards are a good one too, in fact if grandparents are doing the cooking all the time for these expensive meals, I see them here and that is a huge cost for them, help them by giving them gift cards for those and not break their budget or go without after its all over, food has become hugely expensive and hard to buy at times. Gas gift cards for those driving cars. Restaurants, book stores, there are such a variety of gift cards that can be bought and what they like and can choose what they like themselves. But think of ones you are giving gift cards and will they use them as all many not like them or not go out and about to use them. I caught this show where they were talking about gift cards and one loves them so much for everything from going to movies, to food, to gas, to shopping all those things to do. Another said she has a huge pile of them and hates them, feels they are a unthought gift. Another said she likes to actually open up a gift given. I tried that with my brother and sil years ago as I couldn't afford their expensive taste so thought I would give card where they shopped back then and they hated them said that is an unthought gift. There are many that are hard to buy for and you give up then as they aren't happy with anything. I would love to have something like grocery gift card, bookstore gift card, for me those are useful and great gifts to have but I have no one to give anything like that to me except if I do it to myself. HI Brittnee! A daughter is much different than a girlfriend. Always remember that. If you've been dating your boyfriend for a long time and know his parents well, and they knew it was your birthday, ....and she does buy birthday gifts, it was kind of rude. But she may be the type who doesn't buy gifts for boy/girlfriends, only sons and daughters in law. This is something you need to discuss with your boyfriend and see if there's a problem you're unaware of or if this is the norm. As for me, only boys here....short term girlfriends gets a smallish gift. Long term girlfriends gets a nice gift, a DIL gets spoiled more than I do my boys! :)

She told me once from each PC, Patti. When my stepdaughter gets home tonight, I'm going to ask her to vote from her PC too! Thanks for voting. I think it's really great that she's doing so well with the couponing and the bargain shopping and a $25 grocery card would be icing on top of the cake!

Jaime asked me to give you ALL a big thank you from her! She won the $25 grocery card!

These kids are amazing, or at least I think so! Jaime does such a good job with the refunds and couponing that they normally budget just $75 every two weeks for groceries (for her and her husband). She tells me that since she won the grocery card and also had a $25 coupon left from the early stages of this same promotion, that she will have to allow only $25 more for groceries for the next 2 weeks (in addition to the $50 (coupon and grocery card) that she now has). Wish I was that efficient of a shopper!
