I wonder if it was the right thing to do.

Hey all.

Today I took my mom to Walmart about 50 miles from home. Just as we were leaving I saw that someone had left her purse in a shopping cart. We stood around waiting for awhile thinking the woman would surely realize she had left her purse and would come back looking. She didn't.

After pondering on whether to take it inside and leave it with customer service, we decided to look in it and see if we could find a phone number. We didn't.

What we did find was an address book with an addy and phone # that was near her own address so called and got ahold of her next door neighbor/best friend. An elderly woman.

Since it was along our way, she suggested we bring the purse to her, she, or they, would meet us a nearby gas station. It was about half an hour from walmart.

We met up with the lady who was unable to get a hold of the woman. Ever since I have been worried that the poor woman that lost the purse is running all over the place, retracing her footsteps and looking for her purse. I've worried that she didn't have enough gas to get back home.

I wish I had left it with customer service but I feared she would never have it returned to her and then she would have to go through the whole process of canceling credit cards, etc.

In hindsight I wish I would have just left it with customer service.

Who else doesn't have their phone number inside their purse? I do now. :)
