Is that the recipe I made for Mother's Day? If so, son and I both loved it.

I'll share last nights, as I was at class reunion.

Chicken cordon bleu, baked ham, squash casserole, some kind of sliced potatoes, I skipped the rest that was in line. They served fudge pie, carrot cake, and I skipped both. Think I was too excited to eat much.

I had beef bulgar casserole and beets. An easy meal since I'd made the casserole a couple of days ago, and the beets were canned (not pickled).

Glenda, I was just glancing at the recipe again before I put it in the oven and, yes, it IS your recipe. It sure sounds good and I had some guyuere left from the last time I made the potatoes. I think it's going to be on the regular dinner rotation. It couldn't be easier.

That was a nice dinner at your reunion. Ours is served in the school cafeteria--if that tells you anything :-)

Shirley I love plain beets, too. I like them pickled but they just taste so darned good plain. I also make a really good beet salad with them. I don't think I've ever had bulgar--if I did, I don't remember it. Is it like barley?

Give us your review on the quiche, please. Son and I both loved it.

I'm not sure I can describe bulgar. It's not like barley. It's a form of wheat. It cooks quickly and is a good source of protein.

Since Cheryl and I worked with decorating for the Father Son banquet that was this evening we were there to clear the tables of decorations and Cheryl also helped in the kitchen and things, we got to eat a meal along with the ladies that helped in the kitchen. We had, A big grilled pork chop, broccoli casserole, cheese potatoes, hash brown casserole, corn casserole with cheese, cottage cheese, coleslaw, and macaroni salad. All kinds of pies and cake and lemonade and iced tea to drink. The food was good, but too much cheesy side dishes in my notion.

Chilly here, still. When the boys come in from ATV'n, there is beef stew and honey wheat berry bread holding on 'warm' for dinner.

Glenda, the quiche was really good. I'll add a dash or two of hot sauce next time. It would be good with almost any kind of meat--I'm thinking Italian sausage (add some oregano) or chicken. Even corned beef would be good. Nice to have a versatile recipe!

I'll have to try bulgar, Shirley. I'm always looking for something different and, at my age, it's getting pretty hard to find them. Still have leeks and fennel on my "try" list.

That was some dinner, Sue. I thought the same as you--a little heavy on the cheese but, hey, that's my idea of a perfect meal :-)

Angelaid, bet those boys had a ball on their ATV's. Did they remember to come home and eat? Stew will warm them right up.

I had a couple of friends in last nite and we had slow-cooked pork, boiled new potatoes, steamed broccoli and home-made bread. My one friend brought a store-bought lemon pie and it was good!

patti, I had marinated the shrimp in lemon juice and garlic, with a tad amt of italian seasoning for a shrimp cocktail. Then froze the remaining shrimp and used it in the quiche.

Think the garlic kicked it up a notch :o)
