I am not sure what you mean, but I think it is about menopause symptoms. I didn't have any emotional signs going through menopause. But I do have a story regarding hormones. I was having serious headaches, that went on for around 17 years. I was around 40 when the doctors tossed me in the "nerve" basket. Hormones would cure everything of course, but I wouldn't take them. Finally my doctor said I have a new med I want you to try, it is 5 meds in one pill. Okay, I took them. Then one day my husband I were in the car going across town and he had a bag of chocolate covered peanuts in his lap. Every minute or two his hand would rattle the bag and then crunching the peanuts in his mouth. It went on for a while when I raised my voice and said can't you stop eating those things. On top of that I had trouble with my eyes, went to the eye doctor, was told it was the pill and that cost me $50. Later I went to the pharmacy and asked what was in the pill.....hormones, sneaky doctor. I told the pharmacist the effect it had on me, he said, "then you don't need hormones, that is what happens to women who have to many hormones." My husband laughed over that little episode until he lost his memory. He knew that I never acted like that.

This has been great - everyone DOES have a story. Funny thing - we have a lot in common too. Bunch of us have had accordians in our family, had white line fever and have been camel riding. That last one makes me laugh - now that I think of it, I've ridden one too, but don't remember where. I remember being very young, and on some kind of family vacation. My sis and I, both. It was a little scary, but also fun. Keep telling your stories!

I will try my best in relationship with friends - ignore lots of stuff because I am aware that there has to be give and take in friendship. I ignore too much, stuff it down and let it go. But - in time (usually many years) there will be a (small) straw that breaks the camels back and I am done forevermore. I don't want to discuss it, I am completely done with a person. I never miss the relationship, I'm that done. It's like when I decide I don't want to interact to the person again, a huge burden has been lifted from my shoulders. It's not that I never speak to them, but I am so distant and unavailable to them that they clearly get the message. I never miss the "good times" of the friendship, I feel worn out from the effort and the "good times" (of which there will be many) are simply of no value anymore. I consider it a terrible fault within myself that I can so suddenly, quietly and finally walk away from a friendship and not be willing to even discuss the reason for it's demise. It's a cruelty I despise within myself. Usually, it's petty stuff that build over the years that finally does me in-one unimportant thing will suddenly and unexpectedly be "the" one that is my last straw. I am aware this is fault is of my own making because I'm so unwilling to discuss the things that bother me as they are happening. I tend to ignore a great many small things that snowball into a place where it's just too late. It's a terrible failing. I don't know if trying to talk something out would do any good (I feel petty if I try) but it really would be far better if I had made the effort along the way, before I was so completely done. This has happened a handful of times in my adult life with friendships that were five years or even decades old - this really bothers me about myself. I understand the petering out of a more casual friendship - this happens all the time in life, this is not that. It's a sudden death of my own making. The common factor is that I always end up feeling that I was upholding the "work" part of the friendship rather than it being a two way street, and then I quit my job. I have no idea if I'm correct in this perception as I simply won't allow any discussion about it once it's a done deal for me. A terrible flaw in my make up. I wonder if this flaw is in any of you - I often feel so alone with this issue.

Hey Morton5- I'm all for adding questions- go for it! Just to show my enthusiasm, here's some answers: Favorite book: cheesy, but I've always loved "Gone with the Wind" it's my favorite because I re-read it every two years or so and have for the past 20 years... Personal Hero: I don't know, there are so many great ones, but we named my daughter Eleanor after Eleanor of Aquitaine, so she's really up there. Favorite food: Sushi, funny because I'm awful at making it, but maybe that's why Idea of perfect happiness: I don't think there is perfect happiness, but I'm pretty happy with my life right now- three healthy children two healthy adults Degrees: I have a BA in art history with studio art minor, I'm hoping to go back to get my MFA in painting Worst fault: I'm sure there are worse ones, but the one that always comes back to haunt me is that I'm horrible at multi tasking on things that I really need to concentrate on Now, I'll add a couple: Most used cookbook: Joy of cooking Worst or funniest kitchen disaster: For this, I'll toss in a quick story about my husband's cousin, who during college decided to play "Jingle Bells" on the oven keypad while the Christmas turkey was in the oven. He turned on the self cleaning feature during his musical overature and managed to burn dinner to a crisp! Tag, you're it, answer and add one :)

Three things I look forward to this year: (1) Going to my niece's wedding in Indiana and also having a family reunion the same weekend. (Coming up July 4th). (2) Spending time in the mountains, so cool up there. (3) Finishing the redecorating in our house. Just want it over with!!!
