Aren't those the orangy rags you can get at the county fairs? I think they are. I've used them off and on over the years. They work ok, but I like the microfiber rags I buy from a carwash supply place better.

My Dad owned a real chamois cloth,it was made of goat skin,i think. He used it to dry his cars after washing them. He never spent a penny at a commercial carwash.

I have them. I bought them at a flea market. I like them okay, but don't know if I would ever purchase them again because I already have several of the micro fiber rags.

I have used them to to dry garden gloves after washing them and to dry a paint brush after cleaning it, but mostly I use them to clean up the many spills that Bob causes.

They are machine washable, but do not add any fabric softener and do not put them in a dryer.

Save your money!!! My DH bought a double pack and they do not work as well as seen on TV

I use the microfiber cloths around here for everything. The reason these looked tempting was that I've got this black lab, Murphy. When Murf gets a drink, there is water everywhere. I thought maybe the cloths would be more absorbant than the microfiber ones, because at the end of the day, most of them seem to be in the laundry. I even bought cloth diapers to wipe up after him.....we call him mushmouth.

The commercial has interested me too. I use a chamois so I don't think I will be ordering any but they do look interesting.

Don't know about them, but we have a chamois that we got at WalMart years ago, it's a faux material and works fabulously. It's machine washable, you store it damp, I've never let it dry out. It's great, it sucks up water like nobody's bizness. Every time I see the commercial I am reminded of the one we have.

The Shamwow chamois looks very similar to the package you can buy at the auto shows. I bought a set a few years ago, at the auto show,and they do work good, but not near as good as it shows on TV.
If you look REAL close, they cut and edit. When the guy pours the cola over the carpet, it's all over the table. The next shot shows him rolling the chamois over the carpet, but not a drop to be seen on the table. So it was obviously edited....

There is another TV product, I'm curious about. The H2O steam mop by Trane. It looks amazing....

MY DH just bought a real chamois this morning...It's the only thing he'll use to dry the car. (And I'm not allowed to touch it)...I also have a "magic" cloth for doing windows that I love...It's one of those micro fiber cloths that you throw in the washer with bleach....Windows have never been cleaner....

I also can't stand the fellow on the top...Makes me cringe when I hear him.....

I prefer the real chamios. I've bought the fake chamios and yes they are good...but when you've used the real thing you can tell it's not as good.

But with the way things are today ...I can't afford anything other than an old towel...LOL

Actually I do have some pretty good sized pieces of deer hide left over from some that Denny had tanned. I've made him "possible" bags out of them. Since he can't bow shoot anymore..maybe he'll let me have some of it for my car...
