DAM! I hate days like that;( Stay in your jammies, cry, eat junk food and drink booze!! OH and cuss alot!! I also like to throw things, for some reason that makes me feel better.

Do all this and tomorrow you will feel better, then you go shopping;)

It just seems like it won't get better, SK, but it will. You've been through a lot lately, so your resilience is down and thats why it feels like things wont get better. t's good that you have this place for expressing yourself.. that's one example of how you're taking care of yourself. These low points are temporary... things will get better.

Oh, sorry you had a rough day too. Only yours was "rougher".

This is why we say don't give up your job until you have another. Sorry it was such a disappointment. I know you're going through a big upheaval right now but life truly will get better. Stubbing your toe hurts but will feel better in a few days. Spilling your coffee on your blouse would normally be no big deal if you weren't in such an emotional state....but getting a ticket that's a real bummer.
An unnecessary expense right now. Personally, I'd rather have an ice cream soda than a drink but whatever you prefer, treat yourself. Have a good cry, then put everything in perspective and have a good laugh. Focus on the good things...you've reconnected with your brothers, you have a good relationship with your ex and you still have a job even if you're not crazy about it.

Don't you worry now. Things will get better. They always do, and then they get bad and then they get good and that's just the way life goes. Hugs.

Sorry you had a crappy day, but you know what will make things seem better? Go donate 5 or 10 hours a week (or more) at a homeless shelter or a hospital and then I'll bet you that your problems will feel more manageable. There's nothing like helping those less fortunate to make you realize that while your life might not be perfect, you are much better off than you realize.

And eat cake. That'll help too.

SamKaren, I'm sorry it was such a terrible day for you. I agree with Flamingo 100%. Volunteering is a sure-fired way of taking your mind off your own problems. It's so rewarding and guaranteed to make you happier with your life. Please consider it. You would probably like volunteering at your local animal shelter--maybe??

Another thing you may consider is dating again. I hesitate bringing this up, but so many people have had good luck with on-line dating, there must be something to it. Try not to spend too much time alone.

I'm really glad you are reconnecting with your brothers. Brothers can be a wonderful help, especially to their sister!!

That was really a crappy day. But in a way, you found vital information up front about that organization. If they misrepresented a 'seminar' as an interview session, you do not wnat to have anything to do with them.

I feel better this morning. I slept 9 hours straight through which is something I have not done in months. Am making ribs tonight for dinner so I have a good hearty meal. I am going online tonight to continue my job search. There has to be something out there for me...it's just a matter of finding it.

And as far as my big plans....those will happen in two weeks. Didn't want to say anything at first but....yes..I am seeing someone that I met online. I will tell you more about that later though.

I still have a few of the CDs of your radio show (a couple were stolen from my car). I have been known to play them on my "statue days".... So keep in mind all those days you helped people feel better when they had days like your yesterday.

Looking back on it, is there anything you missed or cues you might have picked up that said this was a "stupid seminar" instead of a real job interview? Hate to see you waste your time, gas, & emotions again.

When the lady called me she said to come in for an interview and to meet with a specific person. On the plus side i just filled out an application for 4 different positions at another college.

I had a day like that...started off by stepping cat puke on my way to the shower, car wouldn't start..used the other one, it was on empty and when I went to leave my first job, I went out and the tire was flat. Got it to the tire place after making a ton of phone calls, but then when I got to my second job, my cell phone wasn't in my pocket. Called the tire place, and it was in my car thank goodness. Things were fine, until I got home. Friend called to ask if I could peel 5 dozen eggs she had boiled for her son's reception the next day. Surrrrre I said. Went to get them from her house, and my niece who was staying with me got stung by a bee, so we had to peel all the eggs with the doors an windows shut in a non airconditioned trailer in 90 degree heat. That was lovely. Oh, it just went on and on and on and on......one stupid thing after another. It was so unbelievable I had to write it all down.
But.........at the end of the day, my other car started and ran just fine, my tire was fixed and nothing was permanently damaged. All I could do was raise my hands in the air and ask "What the hell was that all about????" And, yes, it WAS just like the book Alexander's horrible etc etc day. So much so, my cousin found the book and mailed it to me. It was absofreakinlutely crazy. So.....hopefully one day, you can look back on this and know that if you can get through this, you can do pretty much anything! And that makes you a mighty powerful woman :)

Plug in Young Frankenstein and watch it. When it gets to the part "Could be worse. How? Could be raining." Kaboom!

Always cheers me up. One of my favorite lines when things aren't going well.

Sorry to hear about your crappy day! My mom always told me "nothing stays the same, everything changes"....sometimes not as quickly as we'd like, but it WILL change. One day soon we will be reading about all the happy, positive things going on in your life! I just know it! :) Chin up! :)
