I have no idea what you added sounds like a scam. The only adblock I use is the adblock plus add on for firefox with the easylist subscription.
Tell me exactly what you installed so I can try to find out what needs to be done to get rid of it.
Do you use firefox? If so I can give you the link to get what you need.

Sounds like you have "Simple AdBlock" for internet explorer.
I've linked to CNET for Ravencajun to look at.

That also doesn't sound like a great thing to have on your machine. Not rated high at all, lots of complaints that it is in itself an add and full of malware.

Don't be afraid to try FireFox. You can import your bookmarks and make it look just like IE - and it is SO much faster!

I would not use any that you just find on google or that is one that has not been recommended here or at computer help forum, many of these are actually malware and depend on people thinking they are getting something that sounds like what they really need.

Please tell us what browser you are using it makes a difference in what we can recommend.

You need to go to add remove programs and fully remove that program from your pc.

I just posted full instructions on how to add adblock plus and easylist to firefox on the other thread here on KT asking about ads. That is what I recommend using.

IF you are using IE9 you can look here at this page for IE9 add ons that you can just add to your IE9 which will help, easylist is available to add. You may want to try others on this list too they are not ad blockers but will help some.

You also want to make sure in IE9 that you have INPrivate filtering enabled it is NOT enabled by default so you have to do it.

ok you need to stay with IE8 if you have xp then.
You tried to uninstall it from using add remove programs?
I would suggest the free version of REVO uninstaller it will help to uninstall stubborn programs. you can get the download here at major geeks just click on where it says download locations and select one it will pop up a box with the download. Install it and then find the name of the program you want to remove.(be sure to watch for any added stuff that tries to install with it like toolbars etc and uncheck any of those)

Ok, I downloaded the uninstaller, then deleted the adblock, but there was so many other things with it I didn't uninstall them for fear I needed some of it. I have no idea what they are.

Let revo remove any associated items, including any registry items directly related to the program, reboot your pc, check to see if it is still there. I want you to also run an updated malwarebytes scan to see if we are dealing with some malware. I will give you the link and information for this.

malwarebytes is free, if you already have it please update it and run a full scan if not just use the link, update it and run full scan as directed. Let me know what it finds but allow it to go ahead and clean anything it finds it may require a reboot.

To help with your REVO please look at this wonderful video tutorail by Waylon. He explains exactly step by step how to fully remove a program using REVO. Do it as he does. Do make sure that it does create a restore point before starting or you can do that yourself before you start to make sure you have one to return to should something be deleted that you needed, this will allow you to go right back to where you were. Also as he says it puts the removed items in your recycle bin so that should you find you need one it is there where it can be restored.

In case you have never created a restore point it is super easy to do. Click start> programs> accessories> system tools> system restore and choose to create a restore point. follow the wizard.
