How come

15 years ago

nobody writes about the effects of a charcoal intervention for overdoses? If I had any inkling on Friday evening that I would be pooping charcoal briquettes to day, I might have had all that dirt moved on my front lawn by now!

Yes, I still have my humour throughout this whole affair. I am ready for my spiritual journey and self discovery period in my life.

Today I pray for the strength to help console other family members and our friends who will be visiting this evening at the funeral home. My Mom does not want us to be sad. I have asked her to say hello to my Dad and foster brother. I'd love to ask more but I think she's a little busy right now catching up.

Okay, I will have some sad moments coming but right now this is where I am at.

Life is too short. Let's not sweat the small stuff anymore. Geez. I could light a BBQ today!

McPeg, having a sense of humor is vital to your sanity. It got me through some hard times, and it will see you through these rough days.

Peg, I did read about your mom, and your new found journey. My condolences and support!

I agree with milkdud...humor helps..I'm sure that all the charcoal didn't come out the other way..it's got to come out though..lol

Years ago, my husband sprained his ankle serverely while playing basketball..me at nearly 8 months pregnant waddles him off to the Navy Hospital, and as usual the place was crowded..there was a young teen girl who got the charcoal treatment and well it of course helped things come out...but the funniest part was..the aide that came in to help with something..and got COVERED in charcoal and stomach contents...
He came flying out of the ER room..with a total look of disgust...
I'm sure it wasn't funny to him...but it gave us a giggle.

LOVIN' the Springsteen!!! I've always loved "Cadillac Ranch"! There's a line in the song "Burt Reynolds in a Black Trans-Am..." When that song was huge....I had my 1981 BLACK Turbo Trans-Am!!! DAMN I miss that car sometimes.... Watch this...Faron's baby!! I didn't order those rattly T-Tops though, & couldn't stand that "Camel" Interior. I ordered mine with a Burgundy interior, & the Vinyl seats. Once those ribbed cloth seats started to wear, they looked like HELL to me. Since mine wasn't the "Official" Y84 "Special-Edition", it came with the standard Silver dashboard. I ordered the Gold one though...at the time, it was $125 for the damn thing thru parts!!!! I later put Monroe rear Air-shocks on it, to raise the rear-end slightly. I then put on Goodyear OWL Eagle-GT's, with a slightly bigger size in back! Faron

Some varieties grow bushy, by themselves. I can give Shishito as an example. >>The main becomes a "Y". The each end of "Y" becomes another "Y".. My first year with aleppo seems to have similar growth habit. OTOH, if you want a short but bushy plant, just top the branches are shooting the stars.. This will force the plant to grow more lateral branches. Taking a lesson from BONSAI art, you can give your plant any shape you want.

You can do that set up cheaper than you are thinking. The more you are able to shop for reslae, savage and such (Habitat REstore is just one known nationwide, but every area has local versions too), but you can also search online for sink deals. Doen't look like you would want a 30-36 inch kitchen sink, but a smaller one. I saw one recently for $4-600? I'll try to see if I can still find it. That is likely to be your biggest cost item. You can look at remnant or prefab counters for that small, straight space. Shelving and cabinets can be very basic paint them yourself variety -- or even reclaimed If that's what you really want, get the floor taken care of and shop until you find options to fit the budget that makes it happen. And you can hide the connections instead of moving them. If we take ours off the pedestals at some point and try the counter above, I think I would build out a shallow cabinet (4-6 inches?) with sliding doors and oune could be an access panel to the connections. The idea would be to have just enough space to put laundry supplies so I could use the upper cabinets for other things. That's either DIY or paying someone to do someting unusual, which is sometimes reasonable and sometimes $$$.

I'm so glad you're able to laugh, even just a little, at this difficult time. We're pulling for you! I hope your mother's funeral goes well and that you find some closure. My pilates teacher firmly believes that her mother comes to visit her as a butterfly and has had several visits.
