You really have too much time on your hands and too strong a sense of self-importance, my dear.

(In the middle of a post in an on-topic response to the "My Wife's Aunt" thread, I mentioned that, while not wanting to start a debate, I wouldn't object to a particular form of punishment for the perpetrator. Apparently that one word bothered "her/himself"). This post will go shortly, too, I'm sure. That's fine.

I've noticed that this forum is monitored more closely than before a certain horrible fiasco a few months ago. It honestly never occurred to me that it was anything other than GardenWeb authorities.

I've noticed in other forums that there seems to be fewer spam posts and that the ones I notice don't stick around very long.

I'm so happy to read this! Not only is it a great story, but I am a huge Hal Ketchum fan. He went off my radar when he disappeared from the public scene, but I've pulled him up on YouTube periodically just to hear him. I'm going to order some of his albums again, and hope that he comes to perform in my area soon How did he look? Strong?

Alisande, I don't know about the tabs and refresh, but holding down the CTRL key while scrolling will change the font sizes on your screen. Scrolling down makes it smaller, scrolling up makes it larger. Could your CTRL button be stuck?

I've Been Remiss (KT Swap)

Sorry Satine! I thought I had posted what I received in my swap box from Satine but I forgot to move it from Word and post it at the KT. Satine was a wonderful swap partner and it was nice getting to know her. She also sent me some lovely things in the box for myself and my pets. Loki loves getting presents and loved the little hedgehog that was in the box for him. I don't know why he thought there would be something for him but his nose was right in the box as I was opening it. Lucy and Chloe love their little mice and are still playing with them. Satine also sent me lovely fall placemats and cloth napkins with wooden napkin rings and also a nice ceramic glass leaf dish which I have set on my shelf and put my jewelry in as I take it off. I had the hardest time finding anything "autumn" to send Satine because we had already had our Thanksgiving and all that was in the stores was Halloween items and I knew the box wouldn't have gotten to her in time so I based my box to her more on a Canadian theme. Also in the box was a nice black and white journal and a pretty black and white print shopping bag which I have already put to use. I'm confused. Did just one response get pulled? I've never seen that happen, just an entire thread pulled. Hm.

Dedtired, it's not unusual for individual posts to get pulled. Often several in a thread, but not the whole thread, will get reported and pulled.

Ruthie, it may be just Gardenweb. However, as said above, some members have, in the past, admitted to doing so. I don't really care; I just find it comical and often an impediment to conversation.

I've thought that there may be some words that trigger a second look. I'm unable to use a certain former vice president's nickname, although no one knew him as "Richard". I can't use the correct term for a female dog either.

Actually, the post in question smelled a little funny to me.

Meh... to me it is a non-issue.

IF there is someone (and we don't know that) reporting any post, the powers that be would have to agree with that person to pull the post.
Ultimately the choice is all on GardenWeb personnel. Their board... their rules.

I choose not to care about those things... and I fail to see why some do.
