i have a virgin mobile with prepay card..and i hate it. its 35 cents just to turn it on...and now it doesnt work at all where i currently live even though we have cell towers to my left and to my right. my friend has att and loves it and she lives in the sticks like i do.

I just got a Blackberry the beginning of this month. We have US Cellular here. I am really happy with it...kinda spendy tho. I would have been totally lost with it if Kalie (DD) didn't have it so I could ask her what/how to do things! I am almost 50, and boy do I have alot to learn on this thing....although I am sure I will never use it to its full capability!

I have just a plain one my hubby got with his plan for an extra buck. I hate it.. I hate the whole cell phone thing.
Most of the time I don't even have it one. My kids growl at me. I hate having to mess with one of them calling me for some silly thing just to be calling. When I am out I don't want to have to be talking on the crazy phone. My hubby and kids couldn't live without them.. I do wish some people used better manners when on them.

I'm with Sprint, too.

My main account is free, so I have a Blackberry which I'm liking but not loving ... it's too much phone for me, no one has sat down to show me how to do all the nifty things it does. But it gets my emails (both work and private) and that's what I wanted; the camera is terrific; it has the full qwerty keyboard for texting and emails; and the phone part works nice too! Battery life is wonderful.

Hubby's is a basic phone with camera. He doesn't text or use the camera, just answers the phone and can (usually) get voicemails.

DS has an HTC Mogul, which is the equivalent of a handheld computer. He uses it to the fullest capacity and loves it.

He's thinking about switching over to the Pre when they take the restriction for employees off. That one is supposed to be s-l-i-c-k.

Mine is Verizon LG, don't know much about it. My kids got it for me as they did my first one. I keep it with me all the time, even when I take the dog out late at night. You never know at my age if you need to call for help. I use it a lot, don't take pics with it, but do talk to my kids. I always like to get calls from them. I seldom wear it on my hip, but have 3 over the shoulder strap and holster, in different colors. I do have some that clip at the waist of my pants but don't use them often. I use my cell phone more than I do my home phone.

I have a Samsung via AllTel. on my DS' plan
We had Sprint but when we had to exchange a phone wee told to drive to Shreveport for it over 100 miles away as soon as his contract was up he switched to Alltel. This will take pictures but I don't know anything abou tht . His has 6 different alarm cloks on it. All I do is push an answer button or a preset tel number

One of those little Tracfones. Just use it to take with us in the car in case we need help. Plain basic model, my old eyes can hardly see the numbers. Maybe I should get Jitterbug but it's probably more expensive than this one. Just me and DH, only one cell phone, still have the landline though...........

I also have the Virgin thing but I love it...For what I use it for, it's perfect and I've always gotten good reception no matter where in the country I might be....I have them automatically take so much money out of my account every 3 months...I've had it for almost 3 years and I think it's a good deal...

verizon lg 8300 does all i need to do.

I have AT&T and have an LG.Not fancy but it has camera and you can text and use the internet,which I rarely do.The one I use to have was a Nokia,the red one.I love it because it is longer than the others but something is wrong with it.When I call someone or get a call they can hear me but I can't hear them.Need to send it back.
I am seriously thinking of changing providers.My bill gets higher and higher every month and I'm fed up with it.Can't do anything until my contract is up though.
Logger-You might check into the Boost phone.It's prepaid,no contract,unlimited local and long distance plus texting.$50.00 a month.You just have to buy the phone and pay the activation fee.Phones range from $49.00 up.DD has it and she has the $49.00 one and has had no problems.They told her at Radio shack that was the best phone they have.They have had a lot of problems with the $99.00 one they will try to sell you.You can go online a see if they have service in your area.Radio shack has them or you can order online.

I have Alltel/ now Verison LG. I like it well enough. It sounds like the same one lilliepad has.

I have an old flip phone with Sprint. I am really wanting to get a new phone. A Blackberry or Palm Pre would be great. I don't mind buying one but I don't want to pay the monthly fee for them. I'm still thinking about them and doing research before buying a new phone.

I have a seldom used cell phone because I hate them too. Mine is a Verizon. Grab it if the Comcast is out because then we have "no" phone to let someone know we are safe. Have it if we ever needed help on the road, otherwise it never gets used. For us it is an "emergency only" item.

I have T moble to go and that's all it says on the phone. I bought it when I signed up for $35. and it retailed at $125. It has everything on it but a camera. I haven't activated some of the stuff and don't know how to use it. A simple basic phone is fine with me. I just renewed today for $100. = 1000 minutes plus 15 minutes added to it and it rolled over the 1,000. I still had on it. I need to find someone to loan my phone to for their long distance. My minutes would be used and they could call free. I started this cell phone to see if I could cancel my regular service. My friend cancel her reg service last week.

Tracfone and now a Mobal for overseas use. Both were cheapy phones. The Mobal is pay as you use, no monthly fees. Tracfone is prepaid.

Tracfone. Have had several different prepaid phones. I had Virgin and when you got reception it was the best of any I've used. But their service is the Sprint PCS and that's not very widespread coverage. Worked well for me for over a year though because when I'd travel I usually used major highways and PCS is on there. But I wanted better coverage so I got Beyond Wireless until they changed to GSM only then I went with Tracfone. Few different phones with them (cheaper than buying cards) and settled on an LG 3280 flip phone that I really like. Excellent coverage and for about $3-$8/mo, it's stupid to not have a cell for traveling and even going out for the mail in the winter!

A lot of people would be far better off getting prepaid over contract phones. But there's a snob appeal and people look down their noses at prepaid phones and users. I look at cost. Why should I pay $60-$100 a month for something that a few dollars a month does just as well? But I have different priorities. A phone is not a status symbol for me. I want it to do the job, and this does. I'm very happy with it.

Blackberry 8830, world edition. My email automatically downloads as soon as it comes in, I can access the net...things that I need from a business standpoint. But the phone often befuddles me! Last week it started beeping when email arrived for some reason, about drove me nuts! I get tons of email and have 3 accounts tied to it!

I have the HTC 8925 (the AT&T Tilt) through AT&T. It's a Pocket PC/smartphone that has a million bells and whistles (mobile MS Office, GPS, mp3 player, syncs to Outlook, plays videos, has a book reader, internet, laptop tethering, and more) - all of which I use regularly. I love this phone!

I guess I could have given my Tilt to Joann. I didn't like it. Then it would play a song...which I didn't set...when I missed a call. The song was about 6 minutes long. I couldn't do anything until it quit.

Now I have an iPhone. It has more bells and whistles than I use. For me, it is just a glorified texting device. I rarely use the phone on it. I usually have under 10 minutes a month (compared to MIL's 4000+). There are a few features I use sometimes, but I mostly just text with it.

I'm with Sprint & just upgraded to the Blackberry 8330, Curve. Awesome phone & I use most of the features. It's more than a "cellphone".

I would not recommend this phone unless you're computer & phone savvy.

I've used the Rant & Rumor sold by Sprint. They're great phones too, specializing in texting.

For Sprint customers, I would recommend the Samsung M320 if you want a great phone. It's a good phone for someone wanting an easy to use, functional, yet nice looking phone.

We have T MOBILE and I have a nice real slim flip phone but it is two years old and I am due for a new one. I really want and I phone but may settle for a blackberry. I love all the new technology and can't wait to try it out. The I phones are really nice. I am starting to look around now, we may change carriers, not really happy with T Mobile anymore.

I don't have one. My son used some of his Christmas money to get one. Went with pre-paid plan w/virgin. I was not going to sign a contract for a phone. He really only uses it for text messaging his friends. It is $20 for unlimited text per month. He can buy a card when he may want to use for phone talk time. He can "earn" a small amt of talk time by watching some ads on-line, I think up to 1hr per month. Only uses it to call I'm on my way, come pick me up so that has worked for the past 6 months.

Verizon LG Chocolate 3 in light blue. I like it.
