there are many really good useful screen capture free programs out there, bobs link to those at gizmo provides several of the top choices. Many have the editing stuff all built in to them. On my linux I have one called ksnapshot which is so easy to use wish they had just that item for windows. On windows I have used a few including the gadwin program and I have used this one Screenpresso logo and the picpick one mentioned at the gizmo site. I had no idea the pdf select tool would not work on some items. That is strange. on the ones y'all tried it on had you actually saved the pdf file to your pc or were you viewing the pdf file from the online site? just wondering if that would make any difference. I have never encountered that problem.

There are free programs for screen captures. For myself I simply click the 'Print Screen' or 'PRN SCRN' up beside the F12 button. Then open your photo editing software and paste it in. In MS Paint (click Start, All programs, Accessories, Paint) you click Edit then Paste. MS Paint is not very versatile, others programs allow you to crop what ever part you want. But you need text not an image or you cannot paste it in Google In your case can't you place the cursor in front or behind the file name you need and drag across it to highlight? If so once that is done simply right click on the highlighted text, click Copy in the pop up menu then right click and paste it into your Google window.

Well if you don't have a kindle, android tablet, android phone, Iphone, Ipad, Ipod touch and such then yes your only option is your computer. You can read PDF on all those other devices was my point but if you don't have any of those then you can't. I would complain to the seller where ever you ordered it if they did not state you were getting a hard copy and only a PDF and get my money back but that is just me as I don't like when sellers leave that important piece of info out. I know on amazon if a seller did that you would first see what the seller says then if you get no where contact amazon and report them and amazon would refund your money. I don't think it's right a seller makes it to be a hard copy then they have you download a PDF if that's not what you wanted. Mary

Jodi..that didn't work with these files. Not sure why..but I made the picture smaller so it would fit the screen and did a Print Screen. Then opened them in my photo editing program and saved them as JPG's! Thanks
