She's been an occasional topic here. I think you should start reading them for some fun. Tell us what you think.

I've read a few and my son has read many of her books.

Her newsletter came today. Next book, Sizzling Sixteen will be out on June 22. I have plenty of reading to do to catch up!

It also said the new 'Diesel' series tour starts Mid-Sept. First book is called Wicked Appettite. (spelled oddly I believe)

I love her. I 'm eagerly awaiting Sizzling Sixteen.

Read them all - and only one complaint -- I finish
them way too fast. :) They are such a kooky bunch

A friend mentioned the author and the books and thought I would like them. I am a avid reader but somehow I missed these. Got the first 3 from the library and I was HOOKED!!! Let's just say that my family was relieved when I finished the last one (15) because then the laundry was done, dinners were cooked and served and they could carry on conversations with me. I've already placed my order at the library for Sizzling Sixteen. Can't wait to read it.

I've read all 15 of her Stephanie Plum series. They are laugh out loud funny.

I just got the first one from the library and ordered 1-3 from Amazon.
Once I get into a good book it's over. I don't want to clean house, cook dinner....nothing!
I just finished a really good book this weekend. The weather here has been really yucky so I curled up and read all weekend.
Can't wait to get started!

I love the books, but they are getting pretty formulaic...

Another author worth reading is J.A. Konrath and his books are titled after drinks- the first one is Whiskey Sour, then Bloody Mary, Rusty Nail, Dirty Martini, Fuzzy Navel and Cherry Bomb. The main character is a woman cop named Jack Daniels and she's fiesty and occasionally funny, they're a little gorier than the Plum books, but equally as entertaining, IMO.

10 or more years ago! lol

I finally bought one, at the Orlando Airport. I figured I'd better start with number ONE... and I really enjoyed it..
The problem is that they are a very fast read. I finished it on the flights home. Then I bought 2 at the grocery store,
and my chemo room had the fourth one. Will get too expensive to buy an $8 book that you can basically read in a day or two! lol guess I need to hit the library!
I've checked the hospital used book sale, and will
glance at a garage sale. then there is a used book
store in town, I might go check that out. They are
a hoot! lol

and the peeps here are right, Katherine Heigl and
Angelina Joelie (sp) I don't like either for Stephanie.
(although i think Katherine would be better than
Angelina....)
I know they are actresses and should be able to act
the part... but you know who I was thinking? the actress from Gilmore Girls!

In the minority, I know, but I found them too light-weight to really enjoy. Cotton candy for the brain. At best, a beach read.

Frankly, I think the movies will be better! They're a good format for the 90 minute screen.

But then, I always thought Agatha Christie was better on Masterpiece Theater, too.

I guess I'm under that same rock. I never read them either. I have heard of J. Evanovich though.

Love her books. I can't wait for each one to come out. Be sure to read them in order. Even the "in between" the numbers books are pretty good. I got to meet her at a booksigning and she is really nice. Thanks for letting me know that a new one is just around the corner. I hope you enjoy them as much as we all do.

I started reading them after seeing them mentioned on so many "what are you reading lately" posts. Read the first and I was hooked before I finished it! I am waiting not too patiently for the Sizzling Sixteen to come, its on order!

Another good author the KT has me hooked on is Sue Grafton. Does anyone know when her next book comes out? U Is For Undertow was the last one.

I just finished book four and like MaryAnn said...they really are LAUGH OUT LOUD...I sure hope Katherine Heigl can pull her off and now that I've read them I'm trying to think of someone to play her parents, Grandma, Lulu, and all the other regular characters!

Sue Grafton is a great read...I'm gonna miss her when she finishes "z"...

Flamy turned me on to Konrath and his are LOL too!! I'd love to see them made into movies!

Have you read JD Robb? The in-death series...they are pretty gory but such a great read!! Nora Roberts is an incredibly gifted writer!

Lauren Graham--good choice!
My first thought was Sandra Bullock--that "Miss Congeniality" clumsiness (cuz Stephanie is always destroying things) plus some sensuality.

Who were the "nominations" here for Ranger and Morelli?

(I'll bet at least one person suggested Betty White for Grandma--but I SURE DON"T want to see Betty White in that band outfit that Grandma wore in "12 Sharp"!!!)

Everytime I think of Grandma, I picture Estelle Getty as Sophie. To me, that is the perfect Grandma. I can't see Betty White though. You know the bald hunk on Criminal Minds? The one that calls Garcia BabyCakes? He would be great as Ranger I think.

Boy am I in trouble. I went to bed last night a little after nine and picked up the first book in the series and didn't quit reading until 1:30 this moring. I have to get up at 3:30! I could not put it down! Thank goodness I didn't pick up the second book at the library or I would have called off work today!

Do you need to read the Konrath books in order? If so, what is the first one?

It would probably be wise, Murraysmom. I listed them in the correct order, I believe. Whiskey Sour is the first one.

I have heard of her, but have no idea what her books are about. I have a 80 year old aunt who reads a lot of romance novels.. would she like these?

I was just looking up some of her books and saw "Love Overboard" which is one that I had found at a yard sale and bought for my aunt. She loved it!

Guess I just answered my own question. lol

Read almost all of her books.

I'm about to read "Hero at Large" (a non-Plum novel), but I have lots of projects at home and I work about 50 hours a week, so I may have to save the book for a vacation read. LOL!!! It's incredible how difficult it is to put any of her books down once you start to read them.

Love Janet Evanovich! Have read them all and the between the numbers books too. Glad to hear this latest one is almost out. My grandparents live in the "Burg" she speaks of when I was a kid. It's not like that any more but was very much as she describes it back when I was growing up.

I've bought some of them on Amazon in the used books and gotten them very cheap. Yeah, the shipping is $3.99 but the books are almost always under a dollar. lol.. often ten cents. Buying several from the same seller is good.

We have a Half Price Books store near me so I will gather up some already read books and take them up and cash them in and get the first Konrath book. Just like turning in pop bottles when I was a kid!!!

I just finished 11 and moving on to 12...yesterday I pulled up the movie to see who they have playing Morelli and Ranger and Lulu...I didn't know any of the peeps but they seem to have done a fine job picking these actors...now I have a good vision of the characters...Grandma is gonna be played by Debbie Reynolds...I hope she can pull this off!! (I always had Cloris Leachman or Estelle Getty visions as Grandma!)

I can't see Debbie Reynolds in that role, but I hope I'm wrong. I just finished "Full Speed" that she co-authored w/ Charlotte Hughes. They're not as funny as the ones she writes by herself, but this one was pretty funny, and FAST reading. Heck!! I wanna play Grandma!!
