Have you tried removing the paper tray completely and then turn off the unit, turn it back on and insert the paper tray. I have never had that happen ever to me. I will look in my book to see if I find any other options. Make sure it has plenty paper and the side slides are pushed against the paper. I will be looking.

They do have a form you can contact them and ask questions and they will respond by email.

hey did you make sure that it is not set for manual feed mode in the print driver? And that the manual feed is closed properly?

It does say in my book that it will turn manual feed on when the manual feed door is open so make sure that door is closing well and engaging that could cause it to happen if it is not properly closed and also make sure the output slot on the back is closed.

Thank you so much for your help Raven. Took almost all day, but finally realized it was in WordPerfect, not the printer. Someone changed my printer default settings. I am furious. There is no need for anyone to be working from my station when I leave in the afternoon. My computer has all the critical office and accounting files on it. If someone, like yesterday, screws it up, nothing goes in our out of this office until it's fixed.

OH no someone is in trouble! I am with you I can not tolerate anyone to touch my desk or computers. I am glad you found out the problem, you had me stumped other than making sure it was not set on manual.

Maybe you need to password protect your work station so that when you are away, no one can use it. I've had nasty surprises that way too when someone changed a setting in my absence. Luckily, I caught on quickly about the change.

After securing my work station with a password, the culprit gave himself away. At noon, I lurked around the corner on the first day I secured my station and when I heard someone swearing at my computer, I looked to see who it was.

Another reason to lock the machine in today's environment is self preservation. A number of years ago, my company began monitoring employees email activity. They were looking for abuses. They did not mind you sending notes to your home or exploring during your free time; they were looking for pornography activity. If someone uses your workstation for such activity, it could become a black mark on your record depending on how the system is set up. People who sneak into your machine without asking are suspect and do not deserve any respect from you.
