This is driving me absolutely crazy!

My mouse died yesterday. It wouldn't scroll to the left. I took it apart and cleaned it. No go.

Pilfered one from another computer and this one is all wonky too. Cursor goes everywhere it wants, not where I want. Try to close a window and scroll up to the top right corner and the mouse disappears somewhere down at the bottom of the page. This is gonna drive me nutso!! grrrrr

If you haven't already, reboot. Still problems? Check the port where the mouse plugs in...anything out of sorts there? No? try downloading the latest driver from the mouse manufacturers website. Or try going into the mouse setup menu in Control Panel and look around.

If it's an optical mouse, try a different surface. Optical mouses (meeses) don't like a light surface.
Do a scan for malware.

Am I ever glad you posted this query...I am fighting with my husband about this right now concerning our split-level bathroom remodel. He is someone who ALWAYS says "no" to any change just because it is change...drives me absolutely crazy. I would do this without a moment's hesitation. We have just two good sized bedrooms on the top level, and I want to change a horrible single bathroom design that can be accessed from both the master bedroom and main hallway. I want to create two small bathrooms by dividing the one main bath and incorporating the bedroom's walk-to-the-bathroom area into a small complete master bath which would have a shower that is 40'"x60" (8 inches wider than the current shower area) plus a second complete bath with a shower-tub combo. Like your design, my result would be two small baths,; but each would function much better than my current one bath design disaster. I say go for it...makes sense to me! I am convinced adding a bath makes resale sense. My husband says he is living in our house not someone else who might buy it...very limited thinking to me!

What is the best interior caulk?

I'm a caulk nut, too. I've tried lots, I keep going back to DAP. The Alex Plus (white tube, blue lettering). I caulked our baseboard 12 years ago with it and painted over it afterward, not so much as a crinkle in it. You know how some caulk gets old and cruddy and you can grab a piece and just pull? Not this. I had to cut through it with a razor knife and then shave it off the drywall when DH replaced the trim/floor. And thankfully, it shaved right off, no gouges or ripping off drywall. And don't forget the gun! For years I used one of those cheapie blue caulk guns and it was painful and it jammed a lot. Then I got an orange "pro" gun at Home Depot for about $12. Holy cow, what a difference! It was like using the cadillac of caulk guns :D

I have sage greens in my house also. They go real well with Golds. We are still painting so please excuse mess. These are all BM colors. Hallway Flowering Herbs and Guesthouse Here is a picture of a spare bedroom in Twilight Gold (very nice color) Please excuse mess this has been the ketch all room during painting. I plan to make it a guest room or sitting room but for now we just painted it. LR and DR Guesthouse Kitchen and Hallway Flowering Herbs Baby turtle starts over Powder Room and extends to adjoining Family Room Powder Room will be Wilmington Tan which is a great color too but that room is not painted yet. Adjoining Family room Baby Turtle and all ceilings Barely Beige. Woodash is one shade lighter than BB it is very nice too. Hope that helps

Hair spray actually used to be dangerous. The propellant used was vinyl chloride. It was hardest on barbers and hairdressers since they were around it all the time. The danger was a significantly increased risk of liver cancer. I think the show I watched was called the Chemical Revolution. There was also something in maybe the hair dye?? that caused a surprisingly high rate of bladder cancer in hairdressers. (Obviously this is not a commonly occurring cancer.) It if is an optical mouse turn it over and check in the recess where the light is. There may be a tiny almost impossible to see hair or piece of dust caught in there.

Someone posted having the same problem a couple of weeks ago and that was one of the answers given. By coincidence I was having the same problem with my mouse for two days. I turned my mouse over and looked very carefully and sure enough, there was a thin, curly, clear white fuzzy/thread caught in there. I took a tweezers and pulled it out. Problem solved!

Check the port where it is plugged in. I had issues about a month ago and once I removed the pound of cat hair that seems to have found its way in, all was fine. I now clean my computer once a week with the vacuum. Canned air works too- but a little costly for me.

Tried everything, including the canned air. I'm so tired of computer problems. We're getting new computers. They can't get here fast enough.

After all the above suggestions there one tha often works for me. Two actually, come to think of it. Sometimes, just unplug the mouse (assuming it's USB), wait a minute or two. Use the keyboard and alt+tab or type something or use keyboard shortcuts to do something, then plug the mouse back in. Often it'll re-sense it and clear up troubles. Could even try a different USB port.

The other thing that helps me often is go into the control panel, under mouse. Check that the correct mouse is selected. Change the speed or something, click ok and often that takes care of the issue. OK, that's more like three but anyway, Windows is funky so it's strange what will work.

When I clean my optical mouse, I just rum my thumb from bottom to top and it usually cleans it out.
