Isn't it about North Jersey?

I have no idea - I don't know New Jersey state at *all* - this is another version of the "housewives" series - one was in Orange County California, another in Atlanta (I think) and the last one took place in New York City.

Is there a North Jersey within the state that is considered different than the state of New Jersey in general?

Yes...up there, they have different accents, dense population in cities, more like suburbs of NYC.

South of Trenton is very different. Used to be a lot of farmland, now more suburban.

This is a show about very "new money" married (or divorced) women who build and live in *enormous* houses - it's fun 'trash' tv *LOL*

One of them built this house which could be mistaken for an Italian villa of ENORMOUS porportions with marble and granite throughout from ceiling to floor - she stated that she had to build from the ground up because to buy and then live in another person's house?

Well, that was "just gross" - it was just a hoot!

It's completely mindless, trash tv at it's (almost) worst, and I'm completely entertained by this show. I would never admit to watching this show in my "real" life, EVER *LOL*

in the beginning i thought the atlanta show was fun but it soon turned sour...after 40 years in northwestcentral (yes really) new jersey i can honestly say the new wives show is one i never ever want to see

Hey I live in South Jersey and I had to turn the show off- those women are alien to me! And I always say that New Jersey is a schizophrenic state- it's split right across the middle and suffers from at least 2 personalities. Monica has it right when she says the Northern part is more like a suburb of NYC- they root for all the New York teams. South of Trenton leans more toward the Philly sports teams. The women on the show live in Franklin Lakes, Bergen County which is a rather wealthy area.

But maybe I am saved by the fact that I still consider myself a Pennsylvanian and that I'll return to my birth state some day.

I couldn't stay with the "Atlanta" show - I have no point of reference with those women at *all* - I didn't get them.

Not that I do any of the other's in these shows, but I found those Atlanta women to be simply so awful in a non-funny way that I quit after the first few shows aired. If there isn't any humour with or over these strange people, then I'm not interested.

The housewives OC have lost any humor they once had with me too, they are just too much in every bad way.

I have really enjoyed the NYC women though - they are a as unreal as any of them but are a hoot, too.

Mylab, I've watched them all and love them for what you say they are.

Teresa said it made her 'skeeve' to think of living in somebody else's house. LOL She doesn't know it but her eyes make me 'skeeve' what ever that is. And that Danielle has had waaaay too much bad plastic surgery. LOL Love it!

I agree with Daisy, Danielle need to stop with the plastic surgery! She gives me the creeps though. I really like the other wives but there is something about her that makes me "skeeve".

Why is it that when a woman has a face lift, her eyebrows go up four inches above where they should normally rest on the face? I dont' understand that, it makes them look so alien to me. I would love to have "a little work" done if I could afford it, but I wouldnt' want my eyebrows to reach for my hairline for pete's sake. I've noticed this on a lot of "worked on" women.

I wonder if it's a sign of several facelifts - maybe those brows have no where else to go but into the hairline? Yes, she has had way too much surgery - eyes, brows, mouth - I wonder what she looked like when she was 23. She is only in her early to mid 40's - she has had way too much face work done for such a young age - I think she got carried away.

She works out a LOT though - The rest of her does look very good for her age.

They all give me the creepie creeps, in a fun way though *LOL*

I love watching all the housewives. It has become my guilty pleasure. Often times I rewatch each episode over and over. Why? I don't know lol

I find the New Jersy gals quite interesting. Seems as though it is not only Danielle that has a checkered past, but also the Manzo family. "Tiny" Manzo is the deceased father-in-law of Caroline and Dina. His sons inherited the Brownstone from him. Tiny was found murdered in the trunk of his car back in the late 70's or early 80's. He was said to have mob ties and was skimming off casino profits. The Manzo Family said the murder is still an open case...Ya right, like most mob hits.

Danielle really needs to stop the plastic surgery/botox/whatever she is doing. She reminds me of Laurie (from the OC) and the constant work she kept doing to her face...Nothing moved.

I wonder what the extent of Danielle's involvement was when she was arrested. I'm not sure I'm buying the "Wrong place, wrong time" story. I see how manipulative she is with Jacqueline and I'm glad that Teresa finally woke up.

It astounds me to watch both Teresa and her contractor hubby carry so much cash. His place of business is in a small strip mall....Hmmmmmm makes me wonder....

Yeah, all that cash has me wondering too. It would be kind of funny if, on another episode, the IRS showed up for an audit, wouldn't it ;) That would be *delicious* ;)

One of the little humourous parts is how those two count and peel that money off so quickly - that just cracks me up. She carried close to one hundred thousand dollars to pay for some of that furniture? I'd feel like I needed a body guard if I had even a thousand in cash on me! And count - boy could she count it off FAST.

How come I'm not surprised to hear that there is a "body in the truck" history in that family?!?

Danielle has some real problems with her history, but I loved it that she took offense and said so to those "gay" remarks that Teresa's husband kept making at the dance studio. It proves to me that there is something to her, after all. Not much maybe, but *something.*

It will be interesting to see if Danielle ends up not being nearly as bad/guilty as she has been made out to be. After all, why in the WORLD would somebody be on a nationally syndicated show where all that history could and probably WOULD come out for her daughters to be stuck with?

I love watching the New Jersey show. I've seen all the others and this one has everything, much like a summer trashy novel. LOL

The one thing that amazes me is they all pay with cash!! Like running around with thousands of dollars in their pockets, (and that means the women with their kids in tow) is the safest thing in the world to do. Hello??? I kind of wonder if they have a "little" business that requires them to move the money fast (aka: money laundering.) Hummmmm.

Anyway it's a fun hour to watch and I'm totally hooked.

I have been watching it also. Dina's daughter (the one going to beauty school) is friends with my niece (who also attended the school). Dina's daughter wouldn't let them film her during classes (she didn't want anyone else to know about the show right away.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! LOL yes it is for sure just brain candy but I can't help but watch....I really love looking at the clothes houses cars etc etc etc......I don't get Danielle....duh you have kids if your past is a little checkered it is going to come to their attention sooner or later!! I wonder if we google her if we can see what she looked like "ONCE"??
My 2 favs are Jacquline and Caroline....Jacquline is very trusting and I hope she does not end up getting hurt...she seems to just find the good in everyone and lets them run over her....

The one going to beauty school is Caroline's daughter. She's picking a strange career for someone who doesn't like to wax or sugar other people. But I suppose her parents are planning for her just to be the hands-off manager/owner of a business some day.

So far I like the NJ show. I thought I liked Dina, but she hasn't come across as a very good person lately (to me, anyway). I never got into the Atlanta show and I only got into the OC show. My favorite group is the NY gals.

I must have missed a show. What did Danielle get arrested for?

I keep waiting for some news story about the IRS investigating Teresa and her hubby. I too was happy to see Danielle get after Teresa's husband for making anti-gay remarks. He's a jerk.

As far as the kids, they all seem fairly down to earth. Caroline's family has a very strong work ethic and the kids are respectful. I feel sorry for Danielle's girls, they seem lost and sad. Teresa's daughter Gia is a diva in the making. Cute girl, but demanding.

Does anyone read the blogs on Bravotv? The housewives comment after each episode. Bethenny also adds her commentary regarding New Jersey, as well as Ramona and Jill.

I am reading the blogs every day after the tuesday shows...I am so addicted I honestly think so far the NJ's are my favorite. I did not like Bethenny on the NY show and still do not like her I think she is rude and abrasive...Stacy

I used to really like Bethenney, but started to have mixed feelings about her mid season. I too find her rude and abrasive at times. I was glad to see Alex call her out on her "snarky, behind your back" comments. Funny thing is I never liked Alex, but found myself warming up to her this season. I think she learned from her mistakes on Season 1 and appeared the most "normal" of the bunch. I just wish she'd comb her hair more often lol

I've never watched any of these,but you gals make them sound interesting,and maybe good for a laugh or two.

Susan, they usually will show lots of repeats on the Bravo channel, especially the day of the night when a new episode is going to be aired so you can catch up if you have a DVR or the time to sit down and watch it -

Here is a fast clif-note, maybe not all that accurate either -

Danielle got arrested over 20 years ago, and I'm not competely sure why, but it has to do with money and drugs and extortion and maybe even abduction - but she claims it was her boyfriend-at-the-time and his friends, -not her who was involved in all of this. She had been on a model shoot and had just returned and had gone to see said boyfriend and
just got caught in the net when she went to visit her boyfriend in his 30 room house.

A book who's topic is about people who have committed crimes has this story in it with her mug shot and one of those women found out and got ahold of a copy.

What has never been stated yet is if she pled guilty or was convicted of any of these crimes - I'm surprised that this hasn't been stated. Maybe it's being held back for future episodes, but it woudl be an interesting twist if all those girls had it wrong after all.

I've never gone to the blogs, I just dvr the show and then watch it a couple of times because I love to go back and carefully listen to some of casual remarks that are the funniest part of the show to me.

How much do you figure that Teresa and her husband paid for that house? (And, do you suppose they paid 'up front' cash hahaha) I ask only because I don't know how to count that high. I mean, seriously now.

It appears to be gigantic, and stuffed with marble, onyx (the onyx was SO gorgeous) and a little granite and hand made iron railings, covered with marble floors and OMG beautiful hardwood floors and did you SEE those front doors (and handles!) to the house?

It's not my style of house at all - I'm a simple girl, but I sure would love to take bits and pieces of some of those materials and put it into my own little house........ including her whole closet ;)

I'm betting her bathroom/bedroom alone cost more than my modest dwelling EVER will be worth *LOL*

*sigh* I sure would love her completely from ceiling to floor marble/onyx bathroom in the master bedroom - it really *was* "to die for" beautiful. Most of the house was just too much for my taste, but I'd take that bathroom "as is" and not be TOO grossed out that it had once belonged to somebody else *LOL*

However, her bedroom looked to be the square footage of my house. That king sized bed looked completely lost in all that square footage (like a raft on an ocean) - but I'm sure they will manage to fill it all up nicely.

I read in one of the housewives's blogs that Teresa is pregnant.

I too was curious about the cost of their new home. I'm guessing it like everything else was paid in cash. Makes one wonder, doesn't it! The house is gorgeous and thankfully it's never belonged to anyone else, OMG how gross would that be LOL

I really hope Bravo never cancels the Housewives. If they do, I'm going to have to find a reality tv support group :)

I have watched some of the shows, ok all of them. Grinch has a great idea. They need to do one on middle aged/middle class working/soccer moms planting veg. gardens to save money, doing our own landscaping, trying to fix our plumbing because can't afford a plumber. But it wouldn't be so exciting, not all the cash flashing around. We wouldn't be able to live through them and fantasize paying off our house with the money they spend on their childrens' clothes.
