Well was the baggie completly closed off at the end?Shouldnt be. Sounds like the seeds got too wet to me and you got mold perhaps?.Did you let the seeds get room temp after taking them out of the fridge? Ive had seeds germinate in a day or two at times.Older seeds take longer sometimes but those werent old.Possibly just bad seeds too. Barry

Here's a quick blurb from the Greenmantle Nursery web site... I didn't know there were two 'Laxa's'?: Rosa canina 'LAXA' - A peerless form of the native European Dog Brier which has the fantastic quality of near thornlessness .........because it was originally selected and introduced in 1890 by Otto Froebelli of Zurich for use as an understock. As such, it is extremely hardy, tough, disease-resistant and prone to spread by rootsuckers and seeds. The flowers are completely unnoticeable - palest pink and five-petaled - fleeting for a month or so in late Spring. But each one becames an inch long oval Hip of deep crimson: these have good flavor - and most importantly will last far into real winter without deteriorating at all on the bush. Very handy for spur-of-the-moment harvest. This rose should NOT to be confused with Rosa laxa (Retzius).... Rosa laxa (Retzius) - This rather rare species from Turkestan was first described by the Swedish botanist Anders Johan Retzius (1742-1821). The true Rosa laxa came to us from a Canadian correspondent twenty years ago and we are extremely grateful to have been able to obtain it... This tough hardy shrub has greyish-green leaves and five-petaled white flowers - followed by curvaceous deep red Rose Hips. Research has shown that this Species offers one of the highest vitamin C levels of any Hip. http://www.greenmantlenursery.com/2008revision/roses2008/La%20Vie%20en%20Rose.htm I hope this is helpful, Virginia

odinthor, I should have asked myself that question first. My rose is also from ARE and it does not list the climbing version. Since dingle describes her rose as having the same habit perhaps ARE has a different clone than the other two I had previously, one of which I know came from Chamblee's. I have a feeling that this may be a more vigorous rose or perhaps it's just in a better spot and is going to be larger even as a bush. In that case it's probably in the wrong spot. Historically my roses don't grow nearly as large as those described by others in a similar climate but without my poor soil and reflected heat. However, with the historical July rain that gave us approximately 1.3 inches I have the feeling that everything is going to leap into growth. Jackie, I love climbers too but unfortunately have no room for one anywhere, the one available spot being taken up by Annie Laurie McDowell, who sits there proudly in her one foot tall glory as she has for the past two years. However, even she has perked up since the rain so there may be hope.

I have a Netgear router and did not get this email. I had a big Netgear experience today when we switched from Spectrum to ATT for internet. One laptop recognized Netgear; the other laptop didn't and went on ATT. Both cell phones recognized Netgear. My chromecast won't work with either. And the crazy one is 2 of my 3 Kindle fires wouldn't recognize Netgear and went on ATT, but one is still on Netgear. Anyway, I'm mostly on Netgear and DIDN'T get this email!
