I bought a washable rug made for inside, but use it on my covered front porch. I like being able to toss it in the wash once in a while.

mine is dreadful! it's been thru snow, construction, kids, cats, and tons of coming and going..and i'll have to breakdown a replace it...soon?? lol...

why are we so attached to them???

It still makes me laugh when I think about it.

I have had the same one for about 20 years now. It is identical to the one my folks had while I was growing up.
They are indestructible, last forever and cheap!

Ours isn't worth taking a picture of because it's very plain. It's a light brown jute -- nice and rough enough to wipe the dirt from the bottom of people's shoes, and the color goes with the house.

I have the type trinitytx linked. They were hard to find but when I did find them I bought several and use them on the sidewalk also in the winter. Much less trouble with ice buildup. I don't bother washing them. Rain and snow take care of that but I just pick them up and slap them against the side of the steps occasionally to knock out dust and dirt. For me, form follows function. Don't want a "pretty" mat, I want one that does the job.

jae_tn, I had looked for something like that ever since I saw an Andy Capp cartoon decades ago where they're looking at doormats and he asks the salemsman "Have yer got one that says 'BUZZ OFF'?" :) Has stuck in my mind ever since.
