I have seen a potfiller tothe side of a range -- either in an open space between the range and backsplash and the side cabinets or just under the upper cabinets. Mine would have been too low for my huge pots -- the ones I most want to use it with. My pipe comes out of the wall at about 17" from the counter -- probably 16" from the grates -- maybe just below that. I'm just looking across 2 rooms at it since I'm landlocked by a lab behind me and a pup to the side. LOL Be sure to measure your pot heights from the height of the cooktop grate -- not necessarily the same as your counter height.

Not sure the pot-filler option would be much of a convenience anyway. I have had two Kinetico K5W's at different locations for about two years. At 65psi line-pressure, the flow-rate from the tank is faster than previous air-tank unit but still not faucet-fast.....about 1.2 gpm. Holding tank holds 2.7 gallons and refills from empty in a little less than an hour. I am not aware of a larger WOW tank alternative being available. I fill small pans at the sink from the RO spigot. Large pans I place on the stove empty and fill via transfer from a pitcher. If I know I'm going to have several-gallon need, I fill some pitchers in advance so I'm never stuck with an empty tank. Agree with others about only using lines/fittings/fixtures designed for RO water.

benjayva, you can buy an extra long hose for your regular sink faucet. I mentioned this last year and someone did it and loved it. The faucet you have can be equipped with a longer hose, whether it's a pull-down, pull-out or sidespray. Also, if you equip your kitchen with a second source of water (like a filtered water tap) you can have an easier time getting top up water to your cooking pot without disturbing someone's activity at the sink. Also, if you have a container of drinking water handy, it can do the job of providing top up water, without turning on a tap. Same principle as those sponges that hold soap in the handle, instead of having a soap dispenser. pro/cons on pot fillers at cooktops. pro: we just like the way they look con: you do have to carry heavy pots back to the sink to empty, anyway con: all spouts drip at least one drop. Any spout, anywhere, in any case, no matter how expensive. con: admiring guests have been known to try out your potfiller without concern for how much water they put where. They don't go get a pot first.

I think pot fillers are the silliest things ever . I don’t mind carrying a pot of cold water to my stove but when the powers that be come up with a way of dumping the boiling water to drain whatever on the stove give me a call. They rarely even use these in restaurants where they have pots probably 3x the size of yours. I like thehot water dispensers but honestly a kettle takes no time to boil and I love my filtered water dispenser.
