Silestone v Zodiaq v Cambria v Caesarstone...
Comments (9)Sippy_south, you may want to start a new thread with that question so everyone sees it. Otherwise only people reading this countertop thread can see it. As for the various brands of quartz - I don't know that there's really any difference, other than the various colors available and what each manufacturer considers a quality or warranty issue. One person on this forum had problems with Cambria - there was major "resin pooling" on her countertop (do a search for that term), and Cambria wouldn't replace it. I bought Zodiaq because I liked one of its colors the best....See MoreCaesarstone vs. cambria
Comments (7)I am a fabricator. There is very little difference in the actual material. The fabricator will have a far greater impact on your eventual satisfaction level than the material selection. The majority of the engineered stone (i.e."quartz") products are manufactured on the same machinery resulting in nearly identical material properties....See MoreCambria Torquay or Caesarstone Frosty Carrina
Comments (3)Mrs. Limbachia, Cambria's Senior Service Manager (Chris Donaldson) and Regional Business Manager (Luke Carlson) have both spoken with you directly and have explained that these small (each spot is less than 1/16 of an inch) rust deposits are a natural occurrence in nature and are found in quartz. We have also proposed that we come out to your home and perform finish work on each of the 7 markings you do not prefer or as few as 1-2 that are most bothersome. You have refused this offer twice. It is important to note that this finish work is the final finishing most every piece installed may receive whether it be before, during or after the installation. If you would like, we would be happy to bring the material back to the shop to perform finish work and then bring it back to reinstall. We would also be happy to perform finish work on the installed pieces as this is also a common process. Though these markings are neither defect nor damage, we understand that you do not prefer them and we want to be a part of the solution. It is important to note we are standing behind our warranty 100% as evident in the rapid response in having a technician to your home the following day after learning of these concerns, and our thorough evaluation and forthright communication on your concerns. If you should reconsider, please call us at 866-CAMBRIA when we will be glad to reschedule a technician promptly....See MoreCaesarstone or Cambria Quartz??
Comments (13)"That's quartz for you, a big chance for chips." This is myth. Engineered stone is 33% plastic, making it much stronger than natural stone. Certain natural stones are very chip-prone. Ever seen any mesh laminated to the back of an estone slab? Yeah, me neither. Chipping in any product is more a result of edge profile selection than any other factor....See Moreigarvin
