I have an offset drain that is right of center and towards the back. I really like it because you can set dishes or pans in the sink, and not cover the drain hole. I very much prefer it to a center drain.

Thanks for your input akchicago! It does seem to make a sense for the reasons you stated. Does your faucet need to be over the drain or can it be centered?

I have a rectangular single bowl sink. My faucet is the Grohe Ladylux Plus, and is installed centered. But, when I swivel the faucet over to the right, it happens to fall directly over the drain hole. I am not sure how much that was luck! I wanted the faucet placed in the center of the sink, and the drain was as I said, to the right and toward the rear, though not completely in the corner. It just so happens that the Ladylux Plus' reach was exactly over the center of my drain when I swivel it to the right.

I have a super single silgranit and the drain is to the right. My faucet is in the middle, but it will swing either way and has a pull down sprayer that allows you to take it anywhere you need it. :) I've only had it for a couple of weeks, but I do like it.

I am looking for a large single bowl sink (about 30" in width) with a drain right of center. Then the garbage disposal will be on the right side and not in the center of the cabinet and this will allow for a more efficient use of the space beneath the sink. I can't stand having the garbage disposal in the middle of the cabinet - it makes it harder to store things under the sink and I always lose stuff behind it.

All of us Shaw's fans have sink drains to left of center (if installed with label at back, facing front, visible) or right of center (if installed with label at front, facing back, and hard to see without sticking your head in the sink). My garbage disposal is thus off to the left side, giving me plenty of room underneath the sink.

LOVE LOVE LOVE my siligranite super single with drain to the right. Exactly what akchicago said, pile up the dishes and still have access to the drain!

I'm happy to hear such positive feedback. I think I will be definitely going in that direction. RMLANZA, what color is your sink? Do you all prefer the Silgranite over a Stainless. I think I really would like to have a pulldown faucet, any problems with that and this drain work drain? Thanks for the picture! It looks beautiful! What kind of countertops do you have? thanks avignon, my sink is the anthracite (black) color. For me, it is so much better than stainless. The cheap builder's grade stainless sinks I've always had never looked good, the siligranite ALWAYS looks great! My counters are uba tuba. The pull down faucet is awesome, too. So much better than having a sprayer on the side. I debated between a pull down and a pull out and for me, the pull down works better because of the arthritis I have in my wrists. It was just more ergonomic for me. Mine is a Moen Aberdeen.

Also, the single vs. double sink thing has been debated heavily here. For me it was simple, you can always add a basin to a single sink, making it a double. But you can't turn a double sink into a single! It all depends on how you use your sink, too. I don't hand wash many items so this just works best for me.

i have a plain elkay ss rectangular sink. i assumed the drain would be centered, but, while centered from left to right, it is very close to the back of the sink, ie not centered front to back. i do like that you can set somehing down without covering the drain. my faucet is centered.

Here's mine...the second one is a single bowl that's in a utility area. I heard everyone saying how much they like their grid so ordered one. I agree with the reviews...it's nice to have everything up off the bottom of the sink when you're rinsing out the sink. And I like the pull down faucets. It allows you to reach every corner of the sink. Happy planning!

RMLANZA- when I posted my question about sink drains I had been searching the web. I can no longer find any silgranit sinks out there at the moment with the drain right of center. Can you tell me your make? I assumed it is a blanco but when I visit their site, nothing pops up. Also, what kind of pulldown do you have? Are your kitchen pics posted anywhere? would love to see if so! Thanks!

I believe RMLANZA's sink is the Blancodiamond Super Single Bowl 511-652. Search by the name or the model number.

kitchenredo2 is right. It's listed as a drop-in on the Blanco site but can also be used as an undermount. My faucet is the Moen Aberdeen. My kitchen isn't posted on the FKB, just never got around to it. But I'm sure if you do a search on my user name you'll see lots of my pics in different threads.
