please help with MW placement & floorplan in general!

I'm having trouble finding a home for a microwave in this floorplan.

My original plan was to have a GE spacemaker micro in a 27" upper cabinet to the left of my stove. I'd like a door on the front of it that is hinged on the top, so that it would not take away from the range/hood.

Then I'd need a deeper set of upper cabs (maybe 14"?) around the range to accommodate it.

Also, the uppers on either side of the range wouldn't be symmetrical.

My cabinet maker really doesn't want to put it in an upper near the range. He thinks it would really detract from the look of the range, even behind doors.

What do you'all think?

Some other options I've considered

1. a MW drawer in the islandÂnice functionality but I don't like that it'd be the first thing I look at when I walk in my kitchen. Nix this idea.

2. a MW behind doors in a lower cab, to the left of the range or on the island.

3. Over on the wall across from the sink, which I had hoped to keep free of appliances and just have it be pretty glass cabinetsÂ.

FWIW, I really don't use the micro for cooking - just reheating --and I'm willing to sacrifice some convenience for this particular choice.

If you have any ideas on placement (and what kind of microwave) -- or any other thoughts on the layout --I'd appreciate it!
