Started planning in April, it's been a long haul. Just waiting to do the backsplash now.

Our "before" kitchens seem to have a similar beige vibe, LOL.

Just gorgeous! Everything looks great together. I like your cookbook storage. I need that.

What type of stone on the counters?

The granite on the counters is called Ivory coast, I don't remember what the granite on the Island is.

They are 41" wide. I decided on two because I wanted the flexibilty to have them just hang on each side of the window if I got tired of having them pulled to one side. As for what is holding them there....I'm ashamed to admit what I'm using. The salesperson at JCP showed me this cool, inconspicuous hook that is made just for tiebacks. They were out of them and haven't come in yet. I checked Target, BB and Beyond, Home Depot and Lowes but only found those "c" shaped cupholder hooks. I would have needed a pretty big size to hold the tiebacks as the cording is thick. So....I used Command Strips. If you notice them they look terrible, but I just couldn't wait any longer to get the drapes up. To make it worse we only had two large ones so I have two on two of the windows. Don't tell anyone.....

Thanks again everyone for such positive feedback :) It still isn't quite right for me - I'm dying to get the backsplash in to pull it all together. Have the name of a good tiler now just need to pick out something! I"m thinking beveled subway tiles, maybe cream/bone but if anyone has any suggestions I"m totally open! I'm not a designer type person whatsoever.... but lots of you on here are for sure.

We went with Kraftmaid cabinets. The perimeter is Cognac and the island is Moss green with Mocha glaze. We chose Aztec Brown granite which will be installed Tuesday. The walls are Sherwin Williams, Desert Beige. There are windows along the whole back wall of the house, so yes, there is a ton of natural light. I still am pinching myself... Thanks for sharing in my excitement.

snbtwins- i measured for you, the window wall to fridg wall is 16 feet. the range wall to the end of the island is 12 feet.Hope that helps. Pball- i put the open carved toekick on the spots where it bumps out only, so it stands out. So the sink is bumped out 2 1/2 feet, which i love, it gives me alot of extra room behind the sink and makes it stands out nicely.The fridg and pantry also bump out alittle bit, just enough to distinguish the 2 diff. bottom moldings.I did regular base on the rest. Most people do not do base moldings on their cabinets. I guess they feel you can hit them alot.we don't wear shoes in our house, so for us it's not a problem. I really wanted the finished look on the bottoms.I don't think they consider the island standard. There is a base molding on there. I think standard for them is having it open on the bottom, hope that answers your question.

I'm with Janet - I wouldn't even have known it was the same kitchen!! Beautiful!! I've been debating if I would like the SS apron sink in my own kitchen, right next to the SS dishwasher, but yours looks awesome!! Congratulations!

My jaw dropped open. Of course, quartersawn oak will have me from the get-go, but your cabinets are amazing. I love the little styling details that really make them special...Especially the hutch and rangetop cabinet. Do you by any chance have before and after layouts/floorplans? I'd love to see the changes and see how all the new parts of your kitchen orient together...Like I'm not sure where the oven wall fits with the rest. That section is amazing, too. The pendants are a great choice. I'm not good at granite ID...Is it Typhoon Bordeaux or...?

Quarter sawn oak cabinetry is to die for! Your cabinet maker is a master! The whole kitchen is gorgeous.

I am so glad to see the fabric valance over the window gone. Why do i dislike them so much ? ;)

The cabs, counters and lights are spectacular! It truly looks nothing like your old kitchen and is stunning. Your old kitchen was not awful, but the new one is downright gorgeous ;)

The cabinets are really gorgeous! Love the new layout! Who makes the pendant lights? They're really pretty. I like the little "cubby" style drawers on the end of the island and near the rangetop. Enjoy your new kitchen!

I'm glad you posted the floor plan because I couldn't put the new one together with the old one in my head either! The new one really makes a huge difference. Your cabmaker did a great job. Wow! Congrats and enjoy that great space!

Like Rhome, I'm curious....do you have another dining table somewhere?

Very handsome! I'm showing this to my son and DIL as it really sounds like what they've agreed they want, including the Arts and Crafts style. Their misplaced island is the center of their home now, so an even better one like yours may be even more important than the stove. :)

BTW, my stove hood has a shelf too, which is what you see on glancing into the kitchen. I'm not much for making up displays in generally, but I am enjoy decorating it to suit the seasons and events.

We don't have a dining room, but our next project will be a 20'X 20' addition behind the kitchen. This will have a dining area in it.

Oh my, that is a gorgeous kitchen. Just the style I love. Especially love your cabinetry, and I like the use of various hardware, especially like the long handles.

Couple questions: 1) do you like the stainless backsplash behind the stove? Is it hard to keep looking nice? 2) I see you don't have crown moulding over the pantry cabinets. Is it a problem keeping that clean?

The stainless is kind of hard to keep smudge free, I have a stainless steel shelf that will be going on there too.
The crown molding was not installed yet when I took that pic, here's a newer one.

Your kitchen is beautiful!

I am planning a QS oak kitchen as well and my choices (color, inset, door style) are almost identical. We're just getting ready to order our cabinets - seeing your post was a wonderful way to confirm my choices!

Question - can you provide any additional information on your light fixtures? I really like them!

Love your new kitchen! The cabinets are such a beautiful rich color, and the perimeter granite especially is so gorgeous.

And the pooch looks so happy about the new kitchen. :-)

Really nice! I'm curious, since my kitchen's dimensions are almost the same as yours...are you happy with the aisle widths? I'm mostly concerned with the seating area at the island and the cabinets behind. Does it feel tight?

I have 6" less in width and I don't think I can get an island with seating. My 8' run is a beverage center, so that may be ok. How do you get to the point where you say, "that's it!"? :)

Chrisa- Beautiful kitchen and I love your cabinets! I have to ask, what do you put in all those little drawers? They're such a neat feature!

The island is wonderful and I think the shelves on the end are perfect :)
