Anyone out there have stainless pulls..not stainless knobs?

I am seriously considering Amerock's stainless bar pulls. My lovely MIL has recently used them in her new kitchen and I like the "heft" of them. She went all pulls.

I would like to use the pulls only on my drawers and use knobs on doors. The stainless knob http://www.amerock.com/enUS/Product/19008_-_SS_Knob__1-1_4__Dia.html

runs about $10 each and I need ten; yikes!

My question, have you looked at the stainless and the brushed chrome or brushed nickel finishes next to each other? Any significant difference in look? I have only one drawer/door cabinet in which they the pull and the knob would be close-ish to one another.

I could also give up on the knobs and get all pulls saving myself about $60.

i'd worry about doing this. i put a nickel, matte chrome, and ss bow pull all next to each other at expo and each had a slightly different cast. chrome was the bluest, ss, well, the steeliest.now, i am very match-matchy to start with, but if i were mixing finishes, i'd want them different enough so it didn;t look like i tried to macth but failed.

So what are your worries about a SS dish drainer? They don't get scratched like plastic ones. They don't wear out like the rubber coated metal ones. They don't retain odors. They don't soak up water like those wooden folding ones. They are light weight, and as you said they fold for storage, although since they look so good you may not want to store them after every use unless you really need the counter space. They shouldn't leave any marks on your dishes. About the only thing I can think of that *may* bother someone is that plastic ones are quieter. The SS ones don't make *a lot* of noise but some people may be bothered by the clinking sound. Other wise I can't think of any problem that you may encounter. What would hold you back from buying one??

I have the Franke large (29") single deep sink. You would have to pry it out of my cold dead hands--I love it. It is a breeze to soak pans, including large turkey roaster or cookie sheets. It is silent unlike many SS varieties. It cleans easily and doubles as a dog spa for the Maltese once a week.

Be glad you did not order the tuscan- They are no longer making that color and my refrigerator went bad. I only had it about 3 months. That is after waiting four months for it to arrive. I have been arguing with them for an additional few months to replace it.. basically they told me to pound sand and it is my problem. after purchasing the entire kitchen package- I am so disappointed and would NEVER purchase another Samsung product

I went with stainless steel pulls AND knobs - love the heavy feel to them.
You will find that there is a substantial difference in the look of the finish compared to brushed chrome/nickel.

Thank you kailuamom. I am seriously into weight...do your pulls and knobs feel heavy? Maybe it doesn't really even make a difference once they're on the cabinets anyways but I was unimpressed by how lightweight the similar knobs were that IKEA offers so now I just have this thing about heavy!

Sorry it took so long to reply. These are beefy! I have the same weight issue, especially as I have large drawers and doors - with a single pull. I wnat a good feel. These ss pulls are perfect. Well, actually not perfect, there were some flaws, so order a few more than you need - but the price was about 80% less than elsewhere.

Kailuamom, I love those SS pulls! Thanks for the link. I went to the eBay link and was initially determined to buy them for my cabinets. However, as much as I love them, I realized they probably wouldn't look too good on my cabinets.

Our house, built in the early-1990's, has the medium oak cabinets that were so popular at that time, and they have never had any cabinet pulls or knobs on them. I've been wanting to give the cabinets a little facelift by adding some cabinet pulls. The overall look of the home is more traditional (although I tend toward a little more clean lines and don't play that up a lot). As a result, while I really like the look of the pulls you have, I'm thinking they probably wouldn't be the best for our particular circumstances. Maybe in our next house ...

I have a couple questions, though. I really want to use SS or brushed nickel pulls. We need to replace our current SS faucet soon, and it wil definitely be another SS faucet. However, the exposed hinges on the cabinets are darker (brass, I think?)---the same as the door knobs and hinges on all the doors throughout the house. So now I'm not sure what to do. I guess I could replace all of the hinges on the cabinets, which sounds daunting, but is that a good idea, since all the the other doors in the house have the brass hinges and door knobs? Or does it matter? Also, the darker brass hinges seem to blend into the woodgrain now, but if I replaced them with the SS hinges I think they would really stand out---not exactly the part of the cabinets I want to feature.

So what would all of you recommend? I wish the hinges on the cabinet doors didn't show, but since they do am I going to have to use brass hardware if I want to add pulls to the doors? If so, I'll have to consider whether I'd be just as happy continuing without any pulls on the cabinets. I definitely would want something with fairly clean lines---maybe just a simple arch would be okay.

As you can see, the more I try to decide the more confused I get. I really admire all of you who have had to make so many decisions in outfitting your kitchens. I hope to do a major remodel in the future, and I'm both dreading and eagerly looking forward to it.

kailuamom, I want to thank you for the link. I purchased the pulls and knobs from Contempo Living on eBay and am thrilled! You were right, they are heavy and don't feel cheap; but they sure were inexpensive.

As I mentioned in my original post, the Amerock stainless knobs were $10.00 each, Contempo's were .99 with similiar savings on the bar pulls. I paid $77.28 for 12 knobs, eight 18" pulls and six 4" pulls, including shipping.

On other hardware sites the total was averaging $200 and that was for two less of each (I purchased extra as suggested).

So, thanks again. I'm a BIG eBay shopper but somehow hadn't stumbled onto that company when checking there.
