Not everyone wants to spend more than they need to on a kitchen.

Some of us just want a kitchen that is easy to cook in without a lot of fluff.

Taylor Swift's- Cute
Will Smith's -Needs a punch of color or something
Kim's- Who dusts all the crap on top of the cabinets?
Brad's- Stunning!!! I would never close the garage door
Jen's- Almost $6m and that's what you get? But who cares, look at that view.

I think some of the kitchens here are far more beautiful and much more functional than any of those kitchens.

The Kardashian's kitchen has so much "stuff" in it, it would drive me nuts. It's like they hit the local garage sales and didn't know when to stop. Aguilera's is just awful. It would give me a headache.

Functionally...Kardashian's, IMHO, is the best (you can always get rid of the "clutter" if you don't like it).

Taylor Swift's...can she even open the DW w/o banging the knobs of the peninsula cabinets?

Will Smith's...prep sink on the other side of the island & not enough space behind the cooktop b/w the cooktop (flame/steam/smoke/etc.) and seats.

Brad Pitt's..well, can't really see enough other than to say it looks like all metal! But, I do love the view out the back!

Jennifer Aniston's...No sink! :-) You can't really see much of this kitchen either...but, to me, boring! Oops! I think the sink is to the left of the range...hmmm....not much space. She can use the island, I guess, but the sink is far from the refrigerator & (maybe) the island. She's planning a kitchen expansion, so I'm thinking she's already aware of its shortcomings...

I would take Brad's for the view alone, although the one I like best is Taylor Swift's.

The Kardashian's are loaded and that is the best they could do? I stand by my critique for sure. I know we all work with our budgets and all, but they would be able to write it off for the show at minimum.... and even if not, have the money to have whatever kitchen they'd want. I don't follow their saga, but I'd have expected better.... I'd also think they could do better for wall paint with their cabs....
I guess they use it for their live in cook....and for making drinks.

Buehl: I thought the same thing about Taylor's kitchen! The DW that close would surely knock the knobs or catch a finger for sure!

I think I read (within the last week or two) that Brad Pitt's house is for sale.

Brad Pitt's house for sale

Not everyone wants to spend more than they need to on a kitchen.

That does not include the Kardashians.

Because Kim did spend on that kitchen,and in all probability, more than is justified by the amount Kim cooks.

And they spend more than they need to on everything.

From $400k cars to $5k/month on beauty care.

Some of us just want a kitchen that is easy to cook in without a lot of fluff.

Again,that does not include Kim K because there is alot of fluff there.

God, I do hate faux antique wall clocks.

I don't know about the Kardashian's kitchen, but their Christmas card photo from leia's link looks more like the Adam's Family...lol!

They're all sort of meh to me. Can you imagine what the people on here could do with all of those kitchens?
And that Kardashian photo? So much say... None of it nice so I'll just stop there...

This demographic does not cook in those kitchens and when they throw a party they are not hanging out in their kitchens with them like the majority of American homeowners.

Staff or catering chefs use these rooms more then the owners often times.

Another thing to keep in mind is that NONE of those kitchens is are in the star's primary residence.

Swift is very well paid, but still tours primarily and hasn't really amassed a fortune.

Pitt's place was his bachelor pad.

Kardashians' is her mother's and probably was last touched in the 90's when she married Bruce Jenner. While well off, I wouldn't consider them in the jet set.

Smith and Aniston's apartments are outa town crashpads for when they work in NYC - their primary residence's kitchens in CA are plenty swish. For "hotel room" kitchens I think they are pretty darn nice.

Well, I'd take Will Smith's NYC crashpad in a heartbeat. Too bad I don't have $20M to spare. I think the space is gorgeous - very easy on the eyes I dare say. I don't comprehend any of buehl's functional criticisms of it either - I think it would be remarkably easy to operate in. I'd no doubt have a much harder time in a buehl-designed kitchen than I would in the Smith kitchen. :-)

Brad Pitt's space is hard to make out - either the photography or there's a tonne of reflective materials in there bolluxing up the shot. But yeah the scenery beyond is incredible. Who'd waste their time cooking "indoors" when there's that to walk out to. Grab an apple and a carrot and wander away, no?

I'll chime in here. I haven't been to this forum in years but started lurking when I wanted to put some granite in my breakfast room. My first reaction when I started looking at everyone's kitchens is--wow--I don't see this in California, even in expensive homes. There rarely is enough space, lots are way smaller but the upside is you can use your outdoor space year round. My daughter lived in the midwest while going to school, a nice house could be had there for $200-$300 that would go for 2 million here (unless you are Waaaay far from town in an undesirable area) and still would be on a smaller lot. For communities that are close to employment, homes tend to be older, smaller and on small lots.
You would be shocked at the homes in the Beverly Hills/BH adjacent area. It's rare to get a starter for a million, usually the ones I've looked at for around a million you wouldn't put your dog in. The kitchens would make you cry.

Kim's kitchen is way nicer than her mom's. I can't believe she went for simple.
That holiday picture is like the Adam's Family if they wanted into the porn business. Imagine how many kitchens could be renovated with the money they spent on plastic surgery alone....
