water spots on black granite

I have black granite countertops installed around my sink area and have noticed that there are some water marks that won't come off. I'm pretty good about drying things but others in the family aren't. Any solutions on how to get them out? I am faithful with a weekly polish, use Ivory soap and windex without vinegar or ammonia. HELP!! Everyone's coming for Christmas to see my beautiful new kitchen.

I just had Absolute Black put in two bathrooms and have been using Method Daily granite cleaner (from Target). It completely eliminates the water spots and leaves nothing at all. It also has a great smell! I'm not sure of course, how it will work on spots that have been there for some time, but thought I would share this in case it helps.

Which black? Absolute black? Black Galaxy? Other?

Is it honed? Polished? Antiqued?

There is a recent thread concerning honed AB granite & spotting, but as of a few hours ago there was no resolution mentioned in the thread...

Maybe you have red maple (Acer rubrum), with tar spot fungus.

It might be a manufactured stone and not granite. If it is manufactured, you will not get the damage out as it was caused by someone putting something very,very hot on it. The epoxy resin substrate has been compromised by the heat. I would call in a company that specializes in synthetic stone for an opinion. Ron

I have Uba Tuba and get this problem. Also, greasy stuff builds up and the grantite looks streaky or even just from soap build up. My installer gave me a sample of Stonetech Daily Revitalizer to use for daily cleanup when needed. I only use it occasionaly when it's streaky or there is a water spot that desn't wipe off easily. You can order it online or ask your installer if they carry it.
