I have 2 Danze kitchen faucets (Melrose and Anu) plus their Bannockburn bath series. The bath series is described as "brushed nickel" and the kitchen faucets as "stainless steel". I think the finishes are identical (or very close) and both have the slightly goldish cast to the silver that is normally called "brushed nickel". My kitchen faucets exactly match the Mountain Plumbing strainer finish called "brushed nickel".

At the Danze.com site I see Polished Satin Nickel as an option for the Opulence collection.

teedup - isn't "polished" and "satin" two different things? I see they have polished nickel but not satin/brushed.

native tx - thanks for the comparison info! I wonder why they went with the "stainless" name rather than satin nickel for their kitchen faucets?? Anyway, are you happy with the quality? Do you know if the faucets are brass or metal construction?

At this time I have mixed impressions on the quality. The faucets appear to be brass and the guts looked very solid and heavy.

On the other hand, I replaced one kitchen faucet almost a year ago with the Melrose model and, due to carelessness on my part, managed to cut the pullout handle with a too-sharp knife (don't ask LOL). The metal shell on the handle was very thin and easily cut through. After several months of exposure to water, the handle seems to be delaminating (my best descriptive term). I have ordered a replacement spray handle, which should fix the problem.

I haven't had any trouble with any of the other faucets (5 bath sinks, 1 tub, numerous towel bars and rings, robe hooks). The Anu has only been in place a few weeks.

To my eye stainless steel is a much deeper dull gray than a nickel finish of any type.

I have the Danze Opulence, but in chrome. Very happy with the quality; this is a heavy-duty faucet and side spray.

In our recent bathroom remodels, we got brushed nickel towel racks and paper holders and opted for stainless steel Delta faucets. We were worried about a possible mismatch, especially since every manufacturer uses somewhat different terminology. Some say satin finish nickel, some say brushed nickel. We are quite satisfied with our stainless steel faucets. They fit in nicely. Although their shape and style differ from the towel racks, the finish is very similar and works fine. (Besides, the doorknobs are brass, and we're not changing them. I think if you go overboard in trying to get things to match like a set, you might have a kind of contrived, overdecorated look.)

Thanks everyone for your opinions and thoughts on matching the stainless with satin/brushed nickel! I think I'll take the plunge... will let you know how it turns out!
