Is a 12 inch pull for DW too much?

I bought a Schaub 12" pull for the DW in hopes I'd be able to hang a dish towel on it as it is next to sink. It would be really great but am wondering if 12" is just to big for a DW pull. I help it up and it's large but possibly doable. The cabinet panel isn't on the DW yet so it's hard to tell.

I THINK katieob has the 6" on hers and the 12" ones on and below the fridge...

No, it seems like it would be practical. The only potential downside, is that it will pretty much identify your paneled, concealed DW as the DW. I did the same thing, so I don't consider it a downside, but it does lessen the camouflage.

I think the 12" would be okay. Even if you put it on and it looks big after you put a cute hand towel there I dont think you'll notice. Plus something like where to hang my dish towel I would choose function over form (coming from someone who drips water half way across the kitchen now together to the towel).

I recently replaced an 18" Frigidaire with a standard 24" and it's so much better. I put in the 18" 8 years ago when I bought the house and it was starting to rust and leak. When I went out to find a replacement, I discovered that Frigidaire had "re-designed" the 18" model and interior was now 20% smaller. The upper rack is ridiculous...maybe if you drink out of shot glasses, LOL. And all the brands (Frigidaire, GE, Whirlpool) were just re-branded versions of this machine. I didn't look at the expensive Euro brands as I didn't want to spend over $1K. So I did what I should have done 8 years ago, which is remove another cabinet and put in a 24" dishwasher. The advice to avoid 18" dishwashers you mention is your first post is spot on. From someone whose been there!

Sounds high but I don't really know the market rate. I had an experienced plumber who just did a bathroom rough-in (wc, lav, shower), adjacent laundry (washer hook-up, laundry sink, + extend gas line for dryer). Area was unfinished. The plumbing stack for tie-in's was very close. This included breaking the concrete floor. He ran the water lines, but I'm doing the final. (So no fixtures included, and I got the permit myself.) Cost me around $3500 (N. VA near Washington, DC)

You have made such thoughtful, beautiful choices! I really like the American Diner pull but the Liberty Colossus is even better, amysrq. I love its clean lines with the hint of curve: that long and lean rectangle makes perfect sense with the clean lines of your Shaker cabinetry and the curve gives a subtle touch of modern. Now this is my prejudice, but I really like a hint of modern in a classic space and a hint of classic in a modern space. I think it just pumps it up and makes the room feel fresh, not stale. Additionally, I like the base of the Colossus better than the base of the American Diner (AD has a little too much detail). Based on the online photo of RH's Adeline pull it and the Colossus will go together beautifully without being too matchy-matchy (even though both you and I like things which match, it can sometimes go too far and show a lack of creativity). Clearly, you are creative! Look at your green building project. Wow. I agree, I think the HH Studio pull would just be wrong in your kitchen (based on my visualization of it, I mean) -- it's too square and wrong in feel. And the more I think about it, the more I think the Studio style isn't really right for a Shaker cabinet -- too much square and too much detail at the base (which would be inconsistent with the Shaker style). I measured our Studio pull and the clearance (area for your knuckles) is a hair more than 1.25". Good luck with your lighting; I'm pretty ignorant about that so I totally applaud what you're doing and am really looking forward to seeing your in-progress / finished pictures! (no pressure -- you have a b-i-g trip ahead of you!) And thank you again for your nice words about my pre-teen self.

Is 12" too much space between faucet and sprayer on sink?

It would be too much for me, not because of aesthetics, but because I'd feel like I was reaching far for that sprayer. Or are you standing more in front of the sprayer when you're working? You don't want either a pull-down or a pull-out with the sprayer incorporated? Or am misunderstanding your question?

The pull on my dishwasher is 13 inches and I don't think it's too big. But then I have pulls ranging from 10 inches to 19 inches on my cabinets. Here is a shot of my dishwasher. The pull on the adjacent cabinet is a 10 inch one.

We put 12" handles on three "cabinets" so to speak: the DW, the trash can cab, and the wide but shallow (height) cabinet over the fridge.

This shot shows the whole kitchen--you can see the three sizes we used (5" on the drawer to the left of the range, the three 12" handles, and the 8" handles used on the remaining doors and drawers):

Fishies - Just wanted to say that I have the same Schaub pulls in my kitchen (6" and 4") and I love them! The 12" should work great for hanging a towel on.

Thanks all! I"m going to try it! I think my concern is that the Schaub pull is a but bulkier than some of the 12 and 13" ones shown above.

I'd love to put one under my prep sink too but that's a small drawer front and may be just too much. Then I was thinking maybe on the side of that cab but that faces the DR/LR so I don't think so.

It's the "drawer" all the way to the left...

I was hoping you would get positive responses on this question. My kitchen will be installed in a few weeks and I've also debated whether or not to get an appliance pull for my integrated dw. Most of my pulls will be RH Aubrey, but I think I'm going to get the pull pictured below for my DW. It's 15" , but I wanted the projection and I would actually prefer that my DW be somewhat distinguishable from by other cabinets.

Your kitchen is beautiful so far! Congrats!
