getting the pictures to look right on the lily auction
Comments (9)Wendy, If you are trying to post to the LA, you click on browse, then it takes you to your pictures in your download, you click on which picture you want then click on the upload button (on the LA). It then makes your thumbnail picture and your first picture in the LA post. If you want another picture in your post, you repeat the process. If your pictures are too large (which mine were), you first have to reduce your pictures. I do mine on Photobucket. I reduce them to 320 x 240 max size. After you have reduced them you have to resave them to your computer at the reduced size. Then you can post the reduced pictures on the LA. Yes I know this is a lot of work, but you have to reduce them or they will be too large for the LA. Hope this helps. Dot...See MoreTook forever to find the right paint that didnt look yellow
Comments (5)It's still yellow after nearly a week of drying (two coats). And everyone I've shown the sample chip, and drawer I painted, say the paint is definately off and SHOULD be brown. Even if it is my light, the sample didn't look yellow at all in the bathroom. I'd rather find something that works with the current lighting, as everything else is already done and looks great. I dont want my tile and floor to suddenly have a different look, just for my paint. I will be taking it in though. However, is it bad to paint cabinets the same as the wall, if your wall is a lighter colour??...See MoreCan't get this room to look right!- Need help. Long!
Comments (51)With all of the built ins, this is actually a MUCH smaller room than it appears to be, and that you are trying to arrange furniture for. And that is why the furniture feels crowded. Crowded, not cozy. The desk and ladder visually blocking the door makes the space feel like there is no room to walk. That may not be correct based on your comments, but it is absolutely the first thing you notice and it sets a tone for the room. The hard lines of the large beautiful desk make the only spot really suited to it in front of the windows. It overwhelms the space if you want comfy seating too because it doesn't leave enough room left over for anything but a small loveseat or oversized chair where you have the desk currently. And the large sofa overwhelms the space if you want it as a more officey area. There isn't room for both functions because of the built ins. You've got to pick one large piece to embody the main purpose here. Either the large desk or a large sofa. Not both. Both don't work with the available floor space. Unless you switch to a small scale writing desk and a smaller scale sofa, and maybe not even then. No extra chair at all. It's already too densely populated. And I agree with the others that the ottoman is visually too bulky and casual for the room. If you choose comfy seating as the room's primary purpose, then I'd choose a sofa that had a matching ottoman to keep the visual clutter at a minimum. All of the different books when they go in will up the noise considerably and you want to try to minimize that effect....See MoreTest Your Color Sense - How Many Can You Get Right?
Comments (10)I got to 20. I think if you knew the rules of RGB it would help: Each of Red, Green and Blue are listed in order, from 0-255 for "amount of color". R,G,B. For example 255,0,0 is bright red while 0,255,255 is a bright cyan (green plus blue). 50,0,0 would be a dark red. 0,0,0 is black while 255,255,255 is white. Adding more of all colors together lightens the color up....so 255,200,200 would be a light pink while 200,255,200 would be a light green. Yellow is made (in RGB) from an equal mix of red and green - so 250, 250, 0 is a bright yellow. Purple is of course made from mix of red and blue. Orange is approx 2xred to 1xgreen. Adjusting the levels around any of these mixtures will make the color veer warmer or cooler. Adding the opposite color, and less of the main color, muddies the color up. So 150,70,0 would be like a brownish red. 50,100,0 would be like a dull green. 150,150,200 would be a greyish blue. I got tripped up on one that was all browns. I saw this one in the comments - I wouldn't be able to do it (it's not the one in the middle)....See MoreSYinUSA, GA zone 8
