Anybody have white cabinets w/ island painted a different color?

I'd love to see photos! I'm trying to decide if I want to do a wood island or if I want to paint it a color of some shade of green or blue.

If you have real Brazilian cherry all through the level and the kitchen floor has maple look Pergo, I'd take out the Pergo. I'd go with a non-wood kitchen floor so that you don't have to worry about matching or clashing species. Paint the island and if you don't like it, you can replace it. The cheaper/simpler option is the one to try first...

I love that Sarah Richardson kitchen! I contemplated using November Rain for my bathroom (who could resist a little Axel Rose there?). I thought it was a lovely, subtle, and complex color. But it provoked strong responses in family members who thought is was too green and too drab. My guess is that it would be a color that would play well with other colors in a kitchen, including all the "organic" food colors. But be sure to do a large sample before deciding, especially since, like many grayish neutrals, it looks very different depending on the light.

The beach condo has a big LR/kitchen great room. I painted the kitchen cabinets SW Shell White. Walls will be SW Amazing Gray eventually. My BR will be SW Amazing Gray, sis's BR will be SW Mindful Gray. My bathroom will be either SW Jetstream or SW Agua Fria; haven't decided on sis's bathroom yet. Next on the list is painting all the doors, baseboards and trim (door & window). Walls will wait until I have more time than just weekends to paint. In the LR/kitchen area, do I paint the doors/trim/baseboards the same Shell White, or can I choose a different white? The baseboards do run right up to the edge of the cabinets (left and right sides of the kitchen opening) if that matters. I was really wanting to use the same color on all the doors/trim/baseboards if possible so i can save $$ by getting a 5 gallon bucket.

Well shoot. Having just said that, but looking at your last picture, I think the cream in the cabs and the white in the baseboard are fighting. :( Do you like it overall? Like when you stand back and look at it as a whole, does it look good? Because that's more important than a close-up picture. I definitely get the stress of picking colors. I was pretty nuts when I did it. Not only did I test a million, but I made a speadsheet and made notes for each color at each time/light source I tested. Sometimes it seemed like overkill, but when Snowfall White appeared as an obvious winner (all rated "good" or "very good" for each category), I was happy with the process. I was trying to match it with Glacier White Corian, and it seemed harder than it should have been. My designer hadn't done much with Corian, so she didn't have a go-to white.

If you haven't already checked, there are 35 kitchens w/multiple cabinet colors. Some are mixed top/bottom some are mixed perimeter/island.

Soonermagic, you have a beautiful warm looking kitchen. Would you mind telling me the names of your counter tops? I will have white perimeter painted cabinets and chocolate tone Island. The counter choices confuse me! Also, what color is your ceiling and upper walls. Thanks in advance.

pammo, I can't imagine you are doing another kitchen. The pics you posted are stunning. What type of wood did you use on the counters? I can't wait to see the new kitchen.

Thanks, jenanla! I hope this one (my third) is my last kitchen remodel!!

Those counters are American cherry with a tung oil finish from Grothouse.

We are in the process of purchasing lighting & fixtures for our new kitchen, which is very similar. I love your island pendants. Do you have a light over your eating area? I'd love to see that as well and know where I could purchase them.
