Undercabinet Lighting - Simple solution?

We're not doing a full kitchen remodel - just replacing the existing (ugly) flourescent lights with nicer looking ones. My husband is doing the job, and he's good with basic electrical work, but not an expert by any means.

What I'm hoping to find is an undercabinet solution that is an easy replacement for what we have now (i.e., no major work to the cabinets required).

Does anyone have a suggestion for replacement fixtures that would be relatively easy to install? We love the modern look of pucks, strip lighting, etc. but are not sure how much work it would be to install these.

* We're located in California, so flourescent or LED would probably be best (Title 24).
