Where to buy Quality Furniture in SoCal
Comments (4)Rather that pick a retailer start by selecting a product catagory such as dining room, fabric upholstery, bedroom etc. Then select a few brands in those catgories such as Hancock and Moore and Leathercraft in leather Furniture. Vanguard, Lee, Taylor King in Upholstery. Cresent in bedroom and so forth. You might also find some good local manufacturers. After you slected a product you like you can then see who carries that brand in your area and shop for those manufacturers online as well. I think you will find this to be a good method of shopping for furniture....See MoreIf you use latch hardware, must it be on all upper cabinets?
Comments (8)More than likely, no one will notice what you've used for hardware. Think for a moment of every kitchen you've been in since you started thinking Remodel. What is the hardware on every door/drawer they have? Can't remember? Maybe if you sat at their table to drink coffee for an hour you would study the hardware. Otherwise, probably not. It's the over all look that's important, not the individual items used to make the look. I'm stressing over each of these decisions myself and I have to remind myself that it's everything together that will make the room....See MoreWhere can I get good quality, reasonably priced cabinet pulls?
Comments (18)Or you could try to connect with remodelers. In areas where they remodel perfectly fine kitchens to embrace the owner's version of a dream room, or simply the switching out of hardware due to finish changes, the old stuff is still in great condition. I know we bought some temporary value-pack pulls to replace the hideous knobs in the kitchen when we purchased the house. Now I am staining the cabinets and changing the pulls to ones with a different finish. So there will be a box of pulls that are only a few years old sitting in a box in the garage, or waiting for a garage sale. I cannot be the only one....See MoreLatch Hardware on Non-Inset Cabinets?
Comments (8)Wow---your dog is never allowed to come play with my 85-pounder and give him any tips...oy! :) On a side note, we are currently thanking our lucky stars that we decided not to do a 32" high baking counter---it sounded like a terrific idea to have a slightly lower surface for baking, but since we won't be in this house forever and I really wanted cutting boards in that cabinet, we just went with 36" standard height. Then we set up the temporary kitchen. Turns out 32" is just a practically perfect height for our dog's chin... (He'd never bothered anything on a counter in his life before, so it hadn't crossed my mind to worry about it---but as soon as we had the table set up as the temporary counter, it was apparently all fair game!) Good thing all those new counters are going to be 36" again! There should seriously be a book on kitchen planning for dogs. ;)...See Morechesters_house_gw
