which pendants for kitchen?

I have to make a final decision on this.

I know there's a lighting forum but this is a kitchen question too, right? Which lights would you put in your kitchen? There would be three of them over the bar.

My cabinets will be white, antiqued a bit, brushed nickel hardware. I want my house to have a vintage/country influence. I think the green one is a bit more modern but the blown glass and the shape give it some older character and I love the pop of color. The sundance light is just cute and unique, but is it too cutesy? It takes a special bulb but the other costs more so it's kindof sixes on price.

One more question. Any ideas on what to put over the dining room table that would coordinate with the pendant you like? The dining ceiling will be recessed and there will be a wood grid type thing that the light or 2 lights will hang from. Hope that makes sense. I love the green pendant! It is light and whimsical while also being charming.
The Sundance one is also nice but looks heavier to me.

As for the dining room ones, I like the last one best, but not as much as I like your pendant choices.

You do need to keep in mind that with the exposed bulb styles, it may look different in your home with different bulbs....

Thanks for your thoughts! Yeah, I don't know if I love those for the dining room, although I think the PB light is cute. Mostly wondering if anyone has ideas. I think I put all my effort into the pendants and want simpler for the dining.

Thank you all for your comments, input and the image upload. Here is what we found - the larger pendant takes one bulb and a max of 100W. With a diffuser, the light that it emits is not much. So we'd have to put a high hat in between the two large pendants and don't like that idea much. The smaller pendant is beautiful, but only 6 inches wide. So even if we went with three, the counter may not be well lit. So we're now considering going with three of these. http://www.quoizellightinglights.com/product/quoizel-lighting-grant-mini-pendant-grt1508is.html. I've uploaded the picture. It is 8 inches wide and so the light will spread a little more. We can put it on dimmer if it is too bright. We've to go with white glass because they do not have amber. So what do you think of three of these in bronze finish with white glass? Will that look good? Thanks so much for all your responses.

Thank you for your advice! I didn't know that lantern was called the Darlana, thank you as it is so beautiful! I like that idea too because I am using lanterns in the front of the house. Do you think I should use the gold or rubbed bronze (or black?) with the chrome faucet and pulls? What types of fixtures coordinate with it? I have been searching Houzz for ideas but am curious what I should use in the formal dining room, breakfast nook, and foyer that will coordinate but not be too matchy matchy with the Darlana?

Here's a mock up w/the gold I like the wood elements this one is really nice w/the wood island panel and the wood trim on the vent hood. It works well w/the gold pendants and hardware even though everything else is white. I think if you went w/the gold pendants, you'd want to bring in some other gold tones w/the stools or warm wood elements. here's the white lights. love this one w/the blue and the darker wood.

Yes, I just built and skipped the pendants over the island and instead placed two in front of the 2 outer windows of my large triple windows on the sink wall. My windows are tall (12 ft ceilings) so the pendants don't block any of the view where a normal height person would be looking out. I didn't find any photos that showed exactly what I wanted to do, but I have faith in my ideas and it worked out well! I also have recessed lighting, because the pendants are for looks/ambiance. My pendants are 14W x 23.5H.

Are you aware that that celadon one is 40 watts? Is it regular 40 or a new funky 40 bulb that gives more light?

And then the overstock link had an entire page of chandeliers. I wasn't sure which one was up for voting.

I think both of the pendants are very attractive. The problem for me would be the 40W light. I like to have more light over my island because that's where I prep. If you have recessed lighting in addition to these pendants, you might be all right. I think then they would serve more as a beautiful accent in your kitchen rather than a really functional prepping light.

Of the 2 chandeliers, I like the Pottery Barn Globe more, but that's my personal taste. My concerns with that kind of light are that it might glare in your eyes since the bulb is uncovered, unless it is hung high enough. Also, you'd have to commit to keeping the glass clean. Okay for some folks, but I might let it slide and then suddenly notice, one day, that I had a fuzzy chandelier!!

Hopefully you'll get more votes to help you with photos. We are very visual people!

I hadn't even checked what the celedon light takes, although there will be a few of them as well as recessed light so it's probably okay.
Wow, that will be a lot of spare change. Very fun.

Thanks for posting those, Doonie. I haven't taken the time to figure that out yet. Yes, dust could certainly be a problem. I don't have any definite choices for dining room lights yet, so if anyone has any ideas, please share.

Shakalaka - I love the green pendants, I had looked at them for my kitchen. They are unique, organic and visually light/transparent. I do like the other one, but that seems a bit more of the trend of industrial/barn lights which I think might wain over time, as well as I prefer pendants to not be as visually heavy as those.

If you do the green lights in the kitchen room, something opaque and paper/fabric would be nice in the dining room for softness and contrast of effect.
