Comments (8)Oh my gosh...Thank you all! I am in LA visiting my family, and it was a big surprise to see this post bumped up and enjoyed anew. I left a lot of bulbs in bud or full bloom back home. I hope that they will be okay when I return on January 3rd. They seemed to know that I was abandoning them, and were not at all pleased with me. I collected pollen at 5 am before catching the airport shuttle. Yikes! The crazy things we do out of love for our bulbs. I am trying to read all of your posts every day, but my mom is a bundle of energy and we have been constantly on the go. During the week before I left, there were a few posts that almost caused me to die from excessive laughter (especially the thread on certain surgical procedures). You all add so much cheer to my days for which I am very thankful. I wish you all a joyous New Year! With great fondness for each and every one of you, Blanca...See Morepics: Silestone LAGOON-alt. to torquay or misty cararra
Comments (68)blondelle, Thank you. I do know all the "bad" things about marble, but I still am going to pull the plug, because of it's beauty. I will go with the Vermont Danby as I think it is a bit more durable. I know Quartz is all the rage, but 20+ years ago so was Corian, so that's what I got. Although it has held up beautifully (solid white), I am done with "FAKE" materials as to me they look fake. I have yet to see a marble look alike that looks like marble to me. I'm a decorator, so perhaps I have a keener eye, but I just can't do it. I'd rather have etching etc, in a real material than have a perfect finish on a fake one. Everyone is different, that's just how I role....See MoreMisty Carrera Ceasarstone with real white Carrera floors?
Comments (1)Have you brought home a sample of granite that picks up the darker gray that's in the veins of the carrera? I'd have to see the two products together but if the MC looks like you tried to match the white carrera and missed then I'd suggest going with a gray granite that gives more contrast. I'd pick out the countertop first before I decided on a backsplash....See MoreWent and saw Misty Carrera Ceasarstone today
Comments (4)Boxerpups, the first sample photo of Quartzite looks like Silestone's Stellar Snow. It is a white speckled with gray and little sparklies all through it. It definitely does not stain. We have it in the kitchen up in Massachusetts, and I love it so much we are going to use it for the counters in our Alabama cottage too. (Probably along with the backsplash that Scottielee put on her kitchen, Biazza Damasco Bianco Glass tiles). The Stella Snow pattern shows absolutely no fingerprints or even dust or breadcrumbs or anything. Beet juice nor KoolAid can stain it, nor red wine. It is perfect in my book. We will also be using the same Silestone series in the black version for vanity tops in two baths when we get that far in our redo....See Moretuxedord2
