Where can I buy a sink grid for my Benchmark SS sink?
Comments (5)sheila, I have to admit-the sink is beautiful! It's actually an Artisan 16 gauge sink, and seems really thick. (not much to compare to since I had a cheapy HD top mount before.) Searching Artisan on GW, it seems they do make a very high quality sink. Benchmark did a great job installing. We did have a big boo boo when one of my slabs broke in the driveway on a Thursday. The poor installer had to feel my wrath, since I was so over living without plumbing any longer and certainly not for another weekend, and the piece that broke made it impossible for my cooktop, dishwasher, or sink to be installed. I had an electrician and plumber scheduled for the next day. Benchmark stepped up to the plate and fabricated a new slab for me that night even tho it was already around 3pm. According to the supervisor they halted other production and worked late to make it happen as well as to squeeze me into the install schedule the next morning. I was so happy to get it installed very first thing the next morning! Mistakes and accidents happen, and it's how a business deals with them and makes them right that's important and Benchmark did the right thing by me. I can't complain. And an FYI to those Benchmark customers looking for a sink grid-Benchmark keeps a few on hand and can order them I believe (might be a good idea to ask for one when ordering the granite to make sure it's in stock) and they are very very reasonably priced. I got a D-shaped sink, and the grid was $30 with Benchmark. This was the same make/model/mfr grid I saw online for $80, made by the sink's manufacturer....See Moresink grid for farmers sink
Comments (2)Yes, I have a stainless grid in my fireclay farmer's sink and I really love it. It's easy to keep clean, I just rinse it off or wash with the sponge. I like that it keeps the dishes out of the dirty water and I don't worry about hitting the sink when I wash my pots and pans....See MoreStainless steel grids in sinks...do you use them?
Comments (27)I got a white-coated grid for my white Kohler Mayfield sink a couple months ago. This is a big single sink we use for prep, esp. for processing veg. Working out a routine for using and cleaning it has been a bit of a challenge, but when we need it now, we really need it and are confident using it. This one has an opening in middle so I can access drain to remove loose veg flotsam, such as broccoli leaves. I have to put an extra inch or two of water into the sink to wash veg from garden that sits on grid, but it's wonderful to have all that sand and gunk sink to bottom while the veg is resting on the rack. (Unlike our old cast iron sink, this sink is very flat on bottom, so we have to throw around some water to wash out the sand when finished. So nice to have the veg remain above the sand.)...See MoreWeek 136 - Sink Grid - to use or not to use?
Comments (21)I love my grid in my Stages 45. It's definitely more effort to chase down scraps to the disposal but I think the benefits outway the minimal extra effort. Besides the cushion and keeping dishes off the bottom, we use it to stack and dry pans within the sink daily. I keep it clean so build up hasn't been a problem. I also like to regularly put my stopper in and soak either grill grids or burner parts in extremely hot water/dawn, just filling above the grid level. It tends to keep the grid and the feet very clean along with barkeepers friend....See Morewendyp828
