Check on the appliance forum. You might get more responses there. If you're looking at Monogram, make sure it's the models they came out with in 2006 or later with the full extension, ball-bearing racks that stay in while you self-clean. The oven is bigger and has other features and benefits (quieter, etc.) than the older models that were manufactured by someone else. This was one of my top oven choices, and I have read only happy reports from people on the appliance form who have it.

I have a circa 2005 30" GE Monogram double oven. The interior may have changed, but the exterior specs (and look) are exactly the same (I checked). The ovens work great, no issues at all. Last Thanksgiving I cooked a 23 pound turkey in one, so it is plenty large. I don't have ball-bearing racks.

Sue36, Does yours have knobs instead of a touch panel? Knobs are another distinguishing feature of the newer models...and they do look more pro and less contemporary. In the link below they show all the styles. The 2006+ models are the ZET2's. They still sell the older ones (ZET958s which look similar to their Trivection ovens), and many stores still don't have the new ones on display. Some people here have had trouble finding one to look at in person. The older model's fan in the back of the oven protruded into the cavity, making it harder for those of us who have to use big pans on a daily basis. I know that not everyone cooks and bakes for 10 every day, but for me, I couldn't consider it...But the new one, as I said, was one of my top contenders. (I'll bow out of this conversation now, though, and let other Monogram owners chime in, because I ended up with Fisher & Paykel, my other top choice. I found a 'scratch and dent' model --although I can't seem to find the scratch or dent-- for significantly less than the price of the Monogram, so that decided it.) I do have the touchpad. When I purchased mine they offered both models, and I didn't like the knobs (and I think the handle was different as well). I thought the touchpad was a cleaner look. The fan IS on the back in mine. I have never had an issue with it, even with a HUGE turkey. I can't imagine I'd ever cook anything bigger than that. I remember that before I ordered it I brought my largest cookie sheet to the store to check, and it fit. I do think if you had an extra inch or two in the back you could fit two baking dishes with the short end facing the door, which I can't do with most of my larger pans. I just layer them (using two racks) or use the second oven.

I think if you cook for 10 people every day you definitely have different needs than me.

The ovens were the toughest decision for me. I wanted one with a good reputation, but I also needed to like the door style, handle style, the inside had to fit certain pans, etc. GE Monogram was the only one in the price point I was looking at that met my needs.

Luster ..or anyone else that knows for sure...besides the full extension racks, knobs , and diffefent handle styling...just what is the technocal performance difference between theZET2 and the ZET958

I am about to decide finally... but will probably get the ZET958 rather than the zet2 ( double ovens)...simply because there is a GE outlet dealer here in Austin that has scratch and dent ( minor) and I can get the 958 for $1499 w/ warranty.. I have lived without full extension for 35 years of proffessional and home baking...so I guess I can continue to live without them.
When I went to see the 958 they had 2... but they were different inside. One had the protruding small "hatbox" fan cover in the back and 15 3/8 in rack depth, the other had less obtrusive fan if back, but also had 15 7/8 depth racks. After much research and time on the phone with GE it seems they upgraded the oven but did not change the model #. It seems they both have electronic panels

I almost decided on the profile trivection, but it's bottom oven is thermal, not convection... I want boith ovens to be convection. And I heard/read that Jade was going to have a "french door" style double oven..but have not been able to find conclusive evidence it exists here..but for that, I would fork out the extra $$

We have the 30" Trivection and 30" Advantium 240V for close to two years now and love them both. Depending on your needs, a pair of Trivction ovens or a combination like ours would serve you very well. Good Luck.

Lvpinaustin--The GE Profile Trivection DO (JT980SKSS) has convection on the bottom...not just thermal. Check the "Use & Care Manual" and you will find instructions for using convection on the lower oven as well as the upper oven.

As a matter of fact, the only differences b/w the GE Profile & GE Monogram are:

(1) GE Monogram name

(2) Monogram has a sleeker design (which to me, is actually a disadvantage as I donÂt particularly like the design)

(3) Monogram includes the roasting rack, Profile does not (but, I have one from my current oven)

(4) Cost!

To verify, I both called Monogram and emailed their CS...both stated the above...and they admitted that internally and functionally, they are identical ovens. (They were a little defensive about it and insisted that any cost difference is justified b/c of their name value!)

BTW...neither have full extension racks or "self-clean" racks nor do they have a meat probe. The Monogram folks were not aware of any plans to include the full-extension racks.

I ordered the GE Profile. If the Monogram had had the full-extension racks OR a meat probe, I would have gone w/the Monogram even though I don't particularly like the "sleek" look (I do, however, like the newer "chunkier" look...but the Trivection doesn't come in the new look)

Exclusive Self-Cleaning, Full-Extension Oven Racks  Glide in and out smoothly on stainless steel ball bearings, and are designed to be left in the oven during the self-clean cycle.

That's the convection model...yes, they have the full-extension, self-cleaning racks and the new look. The Trivection (ZET3058SHSS), however, does not have either.

I apologize for getting my models mixed up. The one I mentioned is the one I'm looking at, so it's on my brain right now. Thanks for gently pointing out my mistake.
