Finally saw backsplash I love, can't find pic in gallery; help?

Hi, everyone -- We moved into our new house a couple of months ago. Finally I saw a backsplash I love in the kitchen gallery. I printed out the picture, but have lost it. Can anyone tell me how to search just the kitchens forum for an old picture? The kitchen had a reddish granite and a backplash of tumbled slate in mixed colors. The caption ended in "anyone,?" (as in "tumbled slate, anyone?") although I know those aren't the right words except for "anyone?" I can't seem to search using the words. Is there a way to do this, or some other better way? Clicking on days of the month hasn't produced useful results, either. I don't remember the poster's name.

Thanks very much in advance if you can tell me how to do this.

Thanks for trying, bestyears. No, that's gorgeous, but isn't it. The granite looks different and is sideways to be all diamond-shaped; counters are a red or rosy granite, and I know the caption ends in "anyone?" but I guess we can't search by title on the galleries.

Just in case anyone checks back I think I found what I love the most. A really nice girl at United Tile helped me out so much. I almost gave up going there because I never got much help. Anyhow, she let me take home sample boards that have been grouted. I can't believe how much this has helped my decision. My mom and dad came over, bless them as they came over ASAP, and right when they walked in they said "that's the one" pointing to the Walker Zanger polished calacatta. They said it just does so much for the kitchen and I totally agree. The 4x12 samples I have are honed which I thought I liked but much prefer the polished as it adds some warmth. I almost threw out the idea of marble. Thank goodness I had a free day to drive to this store! And the girl said if I know a contractor I'll get contractor's price-my brother is a contractor! Yeh! In these picks you will see beveled subway (my 2nd choice), thassos marble (a little too plain), glass subway (way to contemporary now that I see it grouted and too much shine), and the calacatta is the one with the most veining. Just to clarify, because I'm a little confused. The tile is all going to be stacked and all the same size regardless if it's the glass or the opaque? The glass row will only be 1 tile tall, so you're trying to decide how many stripes and that will tell you how many tiles high of the opaque tiles you will use? Yes, mahlgold, you've got it right. My head was starting to spin, trying to explain it! :-) Thanks for asking for clarification. I have wanted glass mosaic all along, and I had something very similar in my last kitchen, so I am ready for the grout lines. The challenge was to bring a subtle suggestion of horizontality (is that even a word?) to the wall, to help ameliorate what I perceive as an imbalance on the range wall, as you may recall. So, yes, it will be quite different from the inspiration pic in overall effect. But, that was one of the ways I found to bring in a "horizontal" element. Yes, I do feel lucky at the moment. I see you are continuing to struggle. It is so hard. And, often when I think I am there, something shifts. I always wonder when it will end and if this time I really have it right. One thing interesting my husband said yesterday as we discussed all the different ways to use the Sandstone and pale blue together was that really any of them would look good. He's right and it helped me relax a bit. Just a bit. :-)

phyl Your kitchen is really lovely. It is very difficult to choose BS, especially w/o all the elements in place. BS takes up LARGE expanse & you are attempting to "see" that expanse from relatively small samples & a tiny (relatively speaking) piece of the BA. BS has relative permanency, unlike paint that can be easily changed... there are really infinite possibilities w/BS - like an artists blank canvas. Have you perused Houzz? Finished BS link? Do you have a firm idea of what you want? some people prefer a "quiet" backsplash that blends in nicely, others want a statement backsplash - bold & contrasty I prefer simple quieter type. I prefer not to have the backsplash cause the eye to stop & focus there when there are so many other elements of interest. I would suggest considering perusing sites, and listing like/dislike - to help you get an idea of what you want your final product to look like. Do you want something different over the range? Once you have narrowed that down - post some more information on what you would like your final product to look like using as much description as you can - "subtle, bold, contrast, quiet, blending in with..." Say what you DON'T like as well - "too big, too little, cold " ect And if you come across any new samples post more pics as well You should find lot's of good help & ideas as well. I find it difficult to respond to posts with generic type requests because I will tend to infuse my opinion and tastes more then what the poster may like... I personally don't like counter material as backsplash, I don't like little tiles on BS, I don't like a lot of contrast - You get the idea - But that is MY personal taste Looking forward to some more pics & descriptions Good luck

jessie21, thanks very much. Not it, but beautiful, isn't it? I want something to show the tile installer when he gets here on Thursday, and this may do it if I don't find the actual picture I wanted. We have esmeralda green counters, and I'm planning slate in 70% "autumn mist" with 20% golden sienna travertine and 10% rosa verona, all in a random-looking pattern.

Anyone else, I'd love to see pictures.

No help, but Autumn Mist is beautiful. DH and I looked at it a couple weeks ago to go with our Verde Butterfly, but decided to stick the Golden Sienna we had orginially picked out.

I found it, I found it, I found it! Searched "granite, anyone?" on google, and there it was. I can't figure out how to get the pic from there to here, though. We have a freestanding range so there's no way to put something fancy behind the range, and this suits me perfectly.

If anyone wants to see it, it's in a pic in the Home Galleries called Red Granite, anyone? The granite is Red Dragon. It's posted by krislrob.

raehelen, thanks. I didn't realize I could do that. Yes, this BP seems just right for our kitchen. I didn't get the little squares; hope we don't need them. Our kitchen definitely needs more "oomph," and I think this will do it. I want a fairly natural and casual look for our small house.
