Cooktop/Exhaust Hood/Backsplash Proportions

In a kitchen remodel, we'll be going with a 30" induction cooktop. Our thinking regarding the wall mounted exhaust hood and the cooktop backsplash is as follows:

We want a framed tile backsplash but don't want it too small, so we're thinking approximately 35" wide by 25" tall, using 4" x 4" tiles on the diagonal with about a 2.25" frame. To make this work, we think we need a 36" wide exhaust hood located about 30" above the countertop, with about 2-3" between the sides of the exhaust hood and the upper cabinets. This would leave about 2.5" above and below the framed backsplash.

Are these proportions OK?

We realize we could step down to 3" tiles if we need to make the framed backsplash smaller, and then go with a 30" hood, but our concern then is the backsplash may end up being too small and looking weird.

Any advice? Any standard sizing in all this we should be aware of?

Thanks for your help!
